Developer Edition - Available April 19th

I have no problem waiting. There are reasons that I wanted the Devleoper Edition, so cancelling and getting something else isn't a reasonable option. A few days here and there won't bother me. I will have the phone for the next 18 months after all!

But, for you impatient ones, I had to call about my order earlier today and was told that a) they are expecting to recieve HTC One stock today and again tomorrow b) they plan to get as many as possible out both today and tomorrw and c) at some point, we'll receive tracking information, although my guess is that tracking info may not show up until late today.

For those expecting to have tracking info by a certain time today, don't hold your breathe. But, also don't assume that your order isn't packed and out the door because you don't have the tracking details.

There are conflicting reports over at XDA. Some callers are being told "today" and others "tomorrow", with one claiming that they only received Sprint versions today and no other stock. I don't think calling will do any good as every single person seems to get a different answer.

This is good point because in many cases, tracking info on the site and emails confirmations go out hours after the item has actually been shipped. Let's hope that is the case.

I'd probably wait to call tomorrow and leave them be today. If it ships put today, they'll definitely have a tracking number tomorrow. The site may no update and you may not get any confirmation of shipping, but it doesn't mean it's not going out.

It's funny because this happens all the time for a new device. People over iMore are doing the same for the iPhone, the people who are getting the GS4 will be doing the same thing. And the cycle will continue.

I actually enjoy this process TBH. It just adds something special to an otherwise mundane process / purchase. I hope the carriers, Sprint in my case, pick up on this and put an effort into making this even more enjoyable by having stronger communication leading up to phone releases, etc.. and having better pre-order timing, to make it more exclusive / incentivized (is that even a word? ).

Yeah it's pretty entertaining to got through. The same people ask the same questions over and over...... "The pending charge dropped off my account, should I be worried?" and the rest of them. Just pure comedy at times. But it does make the process fun for many and frustrating for others.

"Expecting to receive stock today"??? They should have received them over the last few days like everyone else has. They likely can't turn them all around to get back out in one day either. Let's hope that the Let'sTalk rep is just misinformed- or there will be issues with tomorrow deliveries. Also some are claiming that Black units will be available at AT&T stores tomorrow. If that is true, Let'sTalk will lose some orders.
I just confirmed that my local AT&T store has the silver AND black phones in stock for tomorrow- but only in 32GB. So, I will be watching for tracking info, and yes it IS fun!

Yep, got my new SIM card, and my case and screen protector arrive tomorrow. I probably won't have my phone until late next week, unless LetsTalk gets more Developer Editions in the first wave than they originally anticipated (or lots of people cancel!).

He's right- They will not ship until at least tomorrow (after ordering in the first hour on April 5th). I'm leaving town for the week Monday morning so I'm done here on the developer model. I'm not leaving AT&T anytime soon with 5 lines. I'll now be picking up a Black 32GB AT&T model in the morning at my local AT&T corporate store off contract. I also like how the LED light shows up better on the Black units since it's in the speaker holes.

He's right- They will not ship until at least tomorrow (after ordering in the first hour on April 5th). I'm leaving town for the week Monday morning so I'm done here on the developer model. Yeah I hear ya.. I don't NEED the developer edition.. Especially if I'm able to unlock the bootloader on an ATT edition. I already had an order placed with ATT that I cancelled once I found out that the dev unlocked would ship out on the 18th next day arriving on the 19th. That's what is really pissing me off. They advertised that it would ship by the 18th.. this is why I cancelled my ATT order. If they would have been upfront from the beginning I would have just kept my ATT order and I woulda had the phone yesterday. The positives of having the ATT version will quickly outweigh the negatives if I have to wait beyond tomorrow for my order. Especially with a corporate ATT store less than a mile from my house.

You guys must be new to android. Just because it won't "officially" be supported after tomorrow (allegedly).. doesn't mean it won't still get unlocked. If the devs are able to get supercid or some other method it will be unlocked in time just like pretty much every other android phone with a locked bootloader. Might just have to wait a month or so.

You would rather wait a month for a 3rd party unlock compared to 3 extra days for one that is already unlocked..? not to mention a 3rd party unlock is no guarantee in 1 month ..
