At this point I'm very conflicted. The X is a beautiful phone, has a great in-hand feel, I love the leather back and the battery, while not great, meets my needs. It should be all good. And yet...
My 32gb X w/leather was $125 - and that's with $50 discount sale. For an additional $75 I get better everything with the Turbo ... except the beauty. Plus I get the turbo charger and, if reports are accurate, one free glass replacement if the screen is damaged. Frankly, those last two are worth $75 by themselves. The Turbo build looks super durable and with free screen replacement I think film to protect against scratches is the only accessory required for my needs. So the weight/size difference in negligible. However, compared to the X it is **** ugly...
At a minimum, I can't help but think I've now overpaid for my X. I have another week to decide but as much as it pains me I think it's going back. (Edit to add: Looks like VZW will give $100 off if you trade in an old smartphone - also something not offered for the X. A 32gb Turbo for $25 less than I just spent on a 32gb X w/leather is hard to pass up...)
...adding, I think the thread title should be "Did Moto kill the G because of the Turbo?" because the X is quickly going to be a free-on-contract phone. When that happens, how are they going to price the G?
