Did Moto kill the X because of the Turbo?

I think Motorola killed the X because of the Nexus 6, even with the size difference. I'm just a little envious of the extra hardware that the N6 gets.

Really? The X wasn't designed to compete with the likes of the Nexus 6/Note 4 phones. The X is for a different user IMO. If anything, the X compared more to the N5. And that is even a far stretch. The X isn't dead! The Turbo just takes care of the issues that some potential customers of the new X had. I believe that most of the new X owners are very happy with their phone including me.

I am too, but I am very jealous of what the N6 is getting right now, and the fact the X didn't get the same camera with OIS, a bigger battery, or stereo speakers, or 32/64gb option. The fact that the N6 also have the ambient display and always listening make it more enticing. I am even considering getting the N6 and a secondary smaller device just for work hours.

I hear you. If I had to make a complaint on me getting the '14 X is that I don't think it's that much of an upgrade over the '13 X. When I ask myself if the new X makes my life better/easier than the '13 X did, I answer 'no'. Cause of that, I kinda wish I didn't jump to the new X. It is what it is though and I'll deal with my decision. Though, the better camera and larger sharper screen is growing on me. Plus I swear I'm getting better signal too. Good luck with whatever you do, cause if you do get a N6, you're helping Moto out too!

I couldn't agree more. I felt compelled to upgrade, but to be honest, I was perfectly happy with the 2013 Moto X and could have easily lived with it another year before upgrading. The larger screen is growing on me, and I too feel like I'm getting a better signal (especially at work), but it kind of feels like one of those iPhone upgrades, where they only changed a couple of minor things so big deal. Don't get me wrong - I love my 2014 Moto X - it just didn't have that "WOW!" factor the 2013 Moto X did when I turned it on for the first time.

The main temptation for me is the camera, as maligned as it is by reviews, it fixes a lot of my issues with the 2013 Moto X, especially outdoors. The original tends to turn the sky into a white flash, trees and other background objects are more muted and lose detail vs. the new Moto X.

Other than that I'm not wanting for anything (except maybe a leap in battery technology - who wouldn't want that?) I'm still very pleased with the way my Moto X handles and operates!

Having had the Moto X 2013 .Also recently acquired the Moto X 2014,I never considered the Moto Turbo.
For those who do consider the Turbo ,good get what works best for you.
The decision I made works great for me.Loving my pair of Moto X's , not looking back.

After seeing what Motorola saved for the Nexus 6, it does make the Moto X a little harder to swallow. If I got the Moto X now, I feel like I might resent it or Motorola or otherwise feel like I was cheated in some way.

At the very least, the Moto X should have had dual-speakers and 32/64GB options. They could have at least done that. But really, missing OIS is painful, too. Especially because the Nexus 5 has one.

Ugh, Moto X -- you were supposed to be the chosen one.

As for the Nexus 6, it's just too damn big. : sigh :

I have to admit that part of the reason I can't commit to the moto x is because I won't be able to shake the feeling that I'm being gripped. Motorola saved all the best specs for the droid turbo and the nexus 6. I wouldn't be able to get over that.

I keep reading that there will be a Google Play edition that will work with T-Mobile and AT&T.

Still waiting to see if this is true.

More than likely I'll be selling my X and buying the turbo for full retail price. I love the X for its design, basically stock Android. The battery life and camera are just really bad. I can't even get through the day with it. If the Turbo reviews say the camera is better, I will be jumping ship. I had the original X and wanted to love this phone but I just can't with the battery life.

The thing that keep me from buying the Droid Turbo is the big Verizon logo, Verizon apps, and locked bootloader. Otherwise I probably would sell my Moto X and get it also. I'm leaning more toward the Nexus 6 though.

I'm considering the same, but I'm going to wait for L on both devices before I decide what to do.

I don't get what you guy's are complaining about. Do you not care about the looks of your device at all?

The Moto X is a beautiful device, would never trade it for the turbo. I mean at the end of the day the X meets my needs in a phone.
