Dim screen, no response

Hi,

I was using my Nexus 7 today when suddenly the screen just went dim, the power button initially turned the screen off and pressing it again brought back the dim screen, after about a minute the screen was still stuck dim except for the 3 'buttons' and whatever I do the device remains unresponsive.

Any ideas?

Did you actually power down and then restart?

I can't power down, sorry what I meant was the power button could 'lock the screen' but pressing it again just brought back the same dim screen, not the actual lock screen, it then flickered and went off, I could do that a few times until it now permanently froze with this dim screen, still showing the time that it froze.

If you hold the power button down for 30 seconds to a minute, it will likely power off.
