disappointed in battery life [Samsung Galaxy S7]

I have the s7 edge and so far the battery seems about on par with what my xperia z2 was. Not quite gonna get the full day with some use. They stick a bigger battery in and have more efficient processors but they often give the phone a bit more to do in the background. The bigger battery is usually to benefit them ans not us. That's why battery life always seems the same every year lol

Just signed up to the forum because i felt the need to reply to this topic. Had the phone 2 days now, first day i got 5 hours and 33 minutes screen on time on an 80% charge down to 14%, so still had life left. Currently in my second day, been on battery for 8 hours and 12 minutes with 3 hours 18 minutes screen on time and still with 56% battery left.

Awesome battery life. Thanks for the feedback. And, welcome to the Android Central Forums!!!

My first full day with the phone. At work up until 17:30 in a poor signal area and then I walked around browsing the web, using the camera extensively, playing around with themes mostly using 4G/3G data but some Wi-Fi too. Screen on auto brightness ~20-50% for most of the day. Bluetooth off. I'm happy with these results so far!

Thank you.

Results were with 50% brightness and always on display off. I consider myself a heavy user as well. Battery has exceeded expectations so far, hopefully it stays like this. Similar usage on my s6 would average 3-3.5 hours screen on time with a full charge.

I'm switching from a Galaxy S5 with t-mobile to the regular S7 with t-mobile.
Only on my first day but for what I'm go doing I'm not on impressed
The s5 had a bad battery life after some of its updates
And the difference in battery size from the S5 to S7 is only 150 maH
So I'm going to wait a week
If I don't like the battery life after a week I'm going to exchange for the S7 edge

the battery life for me and the s7 seemed pretty poor the past few days, reaching 50% 3-4 hrs earlier than my S5. I noticed that google photos was not backing up photos at all and may have been running in a loop. I fixed it just now (1) clear data for google photos, then 2) turn off back up and back on again...#2 is key). hopefully that will improve battery life.

After 15 hours of pretty good use I was down to 17% which equates to another 3 hours of use. I'm pretty satisfied with that!

this is my second full day with the s7 on at&t in philadelphia after switching from the note 4 (which lasted me all day) and I must say I think the s7 has even better battery life than the note 4. I don't play games on my phone but I'm on it all day messaging and browsing the web. I took it off the charger at 7:30 am with the always on display on, and at 12:30 am I had 35 percent battery left. today seems to be just as good. I'm not sure what the people reporting terrible battery life are doing on their phones but I am thrilled with the battery life on my s7

There are a lot of factors involved like distance of towers, app syncing, message notifications, graphics intensity of apps etc. While it's safe to compare ball parks (plus or minus a a couple of hours) it's hard to compare apples to apples.

Day 2 looking better, 17 hours off charge. I have exchange for mail so I am syncing work email as well as personal Gmail all day. I figure with 33% left that would give me roughly 5.5 hours SoT today?

Guys it'll take a few days to get the battery where your pleased .it's the same battery that's in my note 5 and it's a beast just took a couple weeks to get there. Funny how the first Lil thing that comes up and bam ...i. taking it back ...just calm down haha

T mobile must suck the juice right out of my phone. So far I'm still lucky to get 4 hours SOT with my s7

I would like to be on it 24/7 but unfortunately I'm a heavy equipment operator so I can't for a big chunk of the day

IF I get one I will be on Metro PCS essentially TMo Towers/Network- I passed on S6 because fixed battery = better be a GOOD one.

How about with

1) Location OFF( except for GPS 30 min per day).

2) SYNC OFF

3) 30% Brightness

4) No Calls ever- just kidding.

OK with 1, 2, 3 above can you get 6 hours SOT on TMo ?
