Disappointed in battery life

MKBHD just came out with his S9+ review and he said the battery life wasn't very good on the device. That's disconcerting because the battery life on the S8+ was great.
Problem with listening to reviewers is you never know how they use their device. For me I get better battery life on my 9 plus than any other device I've had as of late. And that includes the Note 8, S8 plus, iPhone x and iPhone 8 plus. I'm averaging 6 hrs of SOT which for me the highest I've normally been able to get is around 4. So for me its amazing. You can't go off what reviewers say. It's just how something did for them or what their opinion is. He's a great reviewer for sure but I like to see for myself because everyone's mileage will vary.

Yes, everyone's mileage will vary, but he told everyone what he uses his device for.

Does the S9 have good background app controls? On my Mate 9, I can turn off background processing and autolaunch on an app by app basis. I find it helps with certain apps.

I had an Oppo F1s that was worth $200 2 years ago and its battery was insane, like amazing. Now i've massively upgraded to the S9 and the battery has me baffled.

On first use my battery dropped 30% in 40 minutes and got less than 2 hours use on nothing more than Messenger, Instagram and Reddit. I performed a factory reset and all seemed to be going well, now dropping 30% after 2 hours or so.

But now the problem seems to be back with my battery pattern chart sharply declining all of a sudden despite no changes in my usage.

Any tips at what could be the problem?

These threads are becoming confusing, since most posters do not point out if 845 or 9810 version. I’m getting same battery life with my 9+ as did with the 8+. 945 version.

Cell standby is higher than on mine. How's your reception?

To be honest it's pretty poor, that said the cell standby option isn't usually that high. For example it's only at 3% now.
Ah ok. Yeah even with it being lower at other times, if your reception is poor you're going to struggle to get good battery life.

That 30 percent is a lot. Sounds like a Rogue app.

100% This. Only thing that drains more battery quicker is the display at full brightness.
