Docs from a Verizon focus group [unconfirmed]

Idk this sounds too good to be true. I think it almost sounds like sgs3 or the next nexus. I mean we all saw the gs2 and that was without LTE. These doc's just lead me to believe this is what people came up with as wanting for the ultimate phone. But who knows maybe samsung did get it right, just call me skeptical because phone OEM's seem to always leave something out in their phones so they can build upon it for the next version of the phone.

It sounds to me like it is not necessarily device specific but a focus group to determine where to dump their marketing dollars. They want to see what terms resonate with the general public. We tech geeks get all hot an bothered when we hear great technical specs but that is not true of the general buying public, which is 99% of the buyers. They need to figure out what gets normal people excited to buy a phone - do they even know what Amoled is? Do they understand, care about or get excited about: more powerful processors, 4G, higher resolution, pixels, Kevlar, transferring files.

You know that is a really solid observation. Maybe they handed one group the spec sheet meant to wow and the other the captioned pages. This is probably spot on. Glad I did a few hours of work rather than waiting for the Better-than-any-other-DROID phone.

Course - maybe its the iPhone 6 :)

Guys I think you are all over thinking this. These sorts of focus groups are to decide what features customers value most. This isn't a real phone as much as them throwing out features being considered for a phone to figure out what would be most valuable to end users. My guess is that this is for a future Samsung device that Verizon is interested in selling and they are trying to figure out what features they want Samsung to put the biggest focus on. Obviously customer input on a device like the Bionic and SII now is pointless as they are almost certainly far too along in the build process to make changes. Assuming this was a recent focus group then I would guess we are looking at a phone that's 6-9 month away...

I read through all 8 pages getting hot and bothered, only to be let down at the end. Kinda like Blue.....................

Beat me to it. Was pretty much going to say the same thing.

But when it mentions "no matter how you hold it" when talking about antennas.....wasnt that from the Motorola Droid X ad that was a dig at the iPhone 4 death grip issue?

The Droid X1 has 2 antennas for reception, could be Moto upping the ante with antennas a bit.

It also said the thinnest 4G smart phone.

Maybe a future Motorola phone?

For some reason the 11 antennas reminded me of the Mooninites 5,000 dimensions. Sounds a bit over the top.

Dumb/easy questions I'm not really finding answers to because I'm dumb:
1) Bionic has notification light? Think (hope) the answer is yes...
2) Bionic is world phone? Assumed it would be but now I'm confused..

SGSII

@ship its on the docs.

That is a Focus Group doc and, as noted previously in this thread, is most likely a "mash-up" of specs to get customer reaction to them and see which of these specs that "care about" most. This Focus Group could have been formed to determine a marketing strategy for one or more Verizon phones so that they will appeal to the widest audience.
Speculation. I participated in a similar group for haircare products. We had to disagree or agree with key marketing points to the actual product. We did have to use it as well. I understand we are talking about 2 different products but just thought id throw it out there since we are speculating.

At any rate we will find out soon enough.

Of course it is speculation. Almost everything in every one of these threads is speculation. The use of terms like "most likely" and "could have been" are dead giveaways that I was speculating about the meaning of the documents.
