Does "Now Playing" have a cap on the number of songs in the list?

I happen to read that the Pixel 4 uses a newer method to identify songs with Now Playing.

It prompted me to look at my Now Playing history. Hundreds of songs. Does Now Playing have a cap on the number of songs it keeps on the list? Deleting oldest ones.

Is it going to just keep going ... Thousands of songs? Any impact on memory?

It appears to not have a limit it has about 2500 songs last month for me listed

I'm just going to delete them all. I have no reason to keep them so why risk any issue. I'll start over.

Go to settings. Type "Now" into the box and you should see the history item. Tap that.

That's so cool. I know it's supposed to indicate on the always in display what's playing. But I didn't know it kept record. Kinda neat feature.
