Does the S8/S8+ Use Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 or 4.0

Well, I saw an unboxing and it has a cable and an adapter. I have no idea if the charger that comes with it is a quick charge or not, but if not, then I will read this thread to see what people are doing for a quick charger for home and for car. I got a charger at BestBuy since I have a older car charger off Ebay, and well, even then the Ebay charger was so slow for my HTC One M8. The BestBuy one was not a quick charge and was $15, so I am thinking xomeone will post a link to one and I can get it, whether Ebay or Amazon

If this years chips follow last years trend, the Exynos chips will be faster than the Qualcomms and battery life will be bigly better than the Qualcomm. So I wouldn't pay extra over the Exynos just because of QC 4.0. Right now I'd wish the Exynos chipped phones in the US than using Qualcomms.

this is freaking STUPID on samsung part.
isnt most people that upgrade phone every years or those that preorder the phone and cant wait to get it are mostly nerds and geeks? why would you leave out qc4.0 or qc3.0 ? because Exynos dont support qc3.0 or qc4.0 so qualcomm version cant have it either? this is freaking STUPID. that is like saying Mercedes shouldnt be selling cars cus not everybody able to afford a Mercedes. how about charging more money on Qualcomm version with support of qc4.0, i have no problem with that.

Wait, what are we all freaking out about? The guy in that video tested by using the stock charger, which we've already established is the Samsung equivalent of QC 2.0. He doesn't say anything about the phone NOT being capable of faster speeds. It's still possible that it supports 3.0 but Samsung ships it with the same charger as in years before.

Interestingly the LG G6 with QC 3 and a smaller battery still charges slower than the S7E. So Samsung may be right that they are faster. Also some of the faster charging modes require an additional external chip which they might not have room for or feel is worth it.

It would seem rather dumb though that Samsung would ship with a charger slower than its maximum capability and that if it indeed had faster ability that they wouldn't have touted it at the launch event.

Apple does it. I guess that doesn't mean it's not dumb. ;)

That's a better argument. I still hope you're wrong though. :)
I hope I am as well. If you look up the thread I did a chat with Samsung and they told me it was qc3. Best Buy report also just done some learning activity told me the same thing.

It will be interesting to see when we get it if the QC 3 charger is any faster than the reported 1:40 charge time with stock.

Im curious how long it would take to charge the S8+ using the charger that comes with it, versus how long if I got a QC2.0 and then a QC3.0?

Wow, QC 2.0?

I just keep getting more tempted to cancel and wait for the Note 8 at this point.

Update: it appears to be QC 3.0. I got my S8+ today and have been playing around with various combinations of cables and chargers. For example, I have this one from Anker that has 2 ports, one 2.0 and one 3.0: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...nker.com%2Fproducts%2FA2224011&token=DkZN73VH . With the right cable (and some ones I got from Monoprice are not the right cable!) I get "fast charging" displaying on my phone only when I plug the phone into the 3.0 port. It just reports "charging" when plugging into the 2.0 port. And it says "slow charging" when plugging into a charger not marked for Quick Charge.
