Rionj need some help. I'm on 2.3.15 and want to upgrade to the new versions. I'm a newb and need step by step directions to do so. Obviously I'm rooted but I didn't do that either. Also I'm on an x. Any help would be great

Gingerbread, Android 2.3, has not been officially released yet for the DX. 2.3.340 is the system version, not the Android version. The Verizon 2.3.340 update is Android 2.2.1

If you're not running a custom ROM, you should be able to go to Settings, About Phone, System updates.

This isn't a ROM, this is a manual download of the official Gingerbread update for the Droid X. If you have a DX, it should automatically come to your phone as an OTA update, by now at least.

Settings>about phone>check for system updates and it will download go through setup and then notifies me that it was unsuccessful. I defrosted all frozen apps and then unrooted z4 and tried again with same results...any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Question. If I am currently on cyanogen mod 7. how would I go about going to this current leaked ginger? Wipe cache and data in recovery then flash this update? Can't be that easy....

Clicked on the link but it said the page did not exist. I still have 2.1 and I live too far away from corporate to stop in and get my phone updated so I've been looking for updates online that my phone supports. Please help!
