Today I stopped by my local Verizon store to buy earphones. I?ve been in there several times over the last few months. They had a display with a video running. The display had 2 phones X2, D3 with a slot for a 3rd that was empty. The guy told me that the empty slot is for the Bionic and that it was coming the end of August or beginning of September, because the release date was pushed back. Last month he would not confirm anything about a Bionic he just said that their best phones where coming out between now and the end of the year. He showed me the USB slot for the video unit and said the video would be updated to show the bionic when it was available. Actually September might be logical since I bought my original droid in September 2 years ago as soon as it was available.

He showed me cases/covers he has received for the bionic it. His personal phone is a Samsung Charge but he said that he might have to switch over to the bionic because it was going to be 2 GHz dual core processor. I think he is wrong about that?..so has anyone heard anything about a 2 GHz dual core processor for a phone in existence anywhere?

Wasn't the bionic first rumored to come out in April or may!? I can't see holding out till October only to see the prime delayed month after month.

Yes the old Bionic/Etna was supposed to come out in April or May but got scrapped for the Targa Bionic. I don't think I'll wait for the Nexus Prime either because I highly doubt it will be October when it releases.

Well, thats why you see both Nexus and Bionic as my next device, I spend what is left of the month of september reviewing Bionic and watching for more news on Prime and come October (which is just under a month after Bionics release whichever day they decide on) if it doesn't look promising then I drop the green on a Bionic. I just plan on doing all of my research before burning my upgrade. Not to mention I don't see Phil putting that info out there about it being confirmed on VZ for nothing.

In spite of all the times we've had our chains yanked on by Motorola regarding the Bionic, I'm thankful they're doing this.

The Motorola of the past would have pushed out a half-baked buggy pile of junk that overheated twice a day on us. Nowadays, they're holding out until they can deliver a quality experience with the device.

Waiting for a phone really sucks, and I was going just as nuts over the Bionic as any of you. But few things stink worse than hyping yourself up for a garbage end result.

Does anyone else think that maybe there is a surprise about the Bionic since we still haven't heard official specs? Just seems odd that we are a month off yet still don't know what the specs are officially.

Well said.. I give kudos to moto and really I think the bionic is going to be well worth the wait. I also, however, am impatient as hell and so freakin sick of my bb tour. Trying to figure out how the hell I'm supposed to wait til september for a new phone.

I agree with most of this. It's great that they are waiting until the device is up to snuff before releasing it, and I think we are all in for a few surprises with this one. The only thing I don't agree with is about Moto yanking our chains. They really haven't yanked anything. They haven't done anything. They only delayed it once, its all the "insiders" and "tipsters" and "leakers" that are doing the chain yanking. I'm just happy they finally gave us some info. Its better to know how long we're waiting rather than going through the insane "when will it release" mess

.... Actually September might be logical since I bought my original droid in September 2 years ago as soon as it was available.....

That must have been a neat trick considering the OG Droid didn't go on sale until Nov 6, 2009.

Yep, I'm jumping off the Bionic bandwagon! By the time it comes out, I will be looking at the HTC Vigor, SGSII, Prime, or ??? At this rate, it won't even be the first dual core LTE phone! Oh well, looks like I "suffer on" with my DInc 2 a while longer....

very disappointed, i was hyped for this device for the longest time and almost pulled the trigger on the droid 3 last week thinking the bionic would release soon. Not sure if ill still be interested on these many delays

I have a upgrade to burn right now. Then one coming due in Feb. and 2 more in May. 5 phones on a family plan equal many chances to upgrade! Plus all 5 lines got locked into unlimited data and the best part is I only pay $9.99 for that data on each line because of a promo deal I took advantage of last year!

Well I'm much less excited now about the Bionic. If it comes out within my 90 day return policy I will trade my Charge in for it but only because I will be able to get more out of it than the Charge when the Prime is released.

Moto isn't looking appealing to me much anymore.
