Well, I installed the JB update, I went to Voodoo, clicked Restore Root, rebooted, and still, Device Rooted and Root Permission Granted are unchecked. Is there a step I'm missing or have I just lost root?
I'm aware of that. She was rooted but that's what she gets for not listening. I didn't know the 22 fxz was out already. I read the other day, u said it would be sometime next week. Now if we can just get a root exploit, which is looking more and more doubtful with each passing day.
Sam,
Just curious. Can a developer phone, or one with an unlocked bootloader, go back and install ICS or gingerbread if they wanted to for whatever reason, or would they be just as stuck as we are in going back to previous versions?
Thank you.

Is the other site down Sam? My wife's phone had an issue
one of ours is like that, and reading several forums indicates it's not uncommon.
at first i thought it might be that i was using the Koush su, but . . .

Well I updated the wife's bionic. Everything looked fine till it got back to the home screen after it was done. A box keeps popping up saying "unfortunately Motorola services have stopped". Like 30 or 40 times a minute.

I got the file, your link was much better. The link on the XDA page showed me 4 files, including an su and an su.c.There's only one su in his dropbox.

And yes, it'll require using ADB in a command prompt to fix it. If Voodoo refuses to restore root properly, this is the only way to do it. It's a royal pain. Especially since we went through all the steps to avoid having to do this.
EDIT: Also your su-backup should be in:
/system/usr/we-need-root/su-backup

Now, I assume I plug my phone into the computer and have USB debugging on and MTP checked like I did when I ran the HoB software or do I need to be in some special mode with the phone? Now this ADB, is this seperate software, or when I type in ADB shell at the command prompt it takes me to the phone? If that's the case, do I just type in the things on the XDA page and will it find the su file on my C drive?
And is there any risk doing this? I mean can I brick my phone or is this something that if it doesn't work my phone is fine I merely don't have root?
"No. I wish I knew what the hell was causing it. I have an idea but if I'm right, I'm going to roll my eyes and sigh. I'm wondering if the temp unroot thing is what prevents people from having issues. Wouldn't surprise me in the least. "
So are you saying we should use temp unroot? And if so, prior to flashing?
You won't brick. You can open a command prompt to the SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic\utils directory. It has ADB that you can use. You may want to copy that special su into the same directory so you can run the commands as is.

I can say that I temp unrooted before I installed 22 and had a issue regaining root as well. Got it back but I had to go through that adb shell commands in term mgr to restore, although I never updated binaries before the install either so I'm not sure myself.
is any one having GPS issues with the Droid Bionic. witth the new 4.1 update it wont give me my location.
