DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

From what i understand, Verizon is planning on forcing everyone off unlimited as soon as they can. It doesn't matter to me that much, since i don't use a ton of data anyways.

What i really hope though is that they stop messing around with our phones and letting us do what we want with them.

In a perfect world device and carrier wouldn't matter. All phones would work on all radio frequencies, we would buy unsubsidized phones, any phone that we like best, then just need to pick a carrier and get their Sim. Verizon would be a little more expensive because you get better radio service, with some of the others being cheaper, but not as good. I'd still stick to Verizon because i like their product. Just my pipe dream...

So I'm upgrade eligible starting in May. Think I'll be able to get grandfathered in for one more go round we unlimited data? Someone on an earlier post here said they can switch you from unlimited data to the shared data even if you make any other changes to your plan.

My absence is simply due to being on vacation. I'm down in Florida with my son enjoying the flower and garden festival in disney. I always appreciate the removable battery in the bionic when I'm on vacation. Use it all day while charging a battery on the external charger, swap it at night. Rinse and repeat daily. I have heard nothing on the d4 or bionic builds

A very well earned vacation I'd bet. Do you still have some "sources" on the inside that leak you out a little info, such as build status, since the website was shut down?

I know all about ghost. It's going to be the next high end phone and was not doing well in testing 4.2.2.

You need to keep up on the conversation. Go back and read and you will find out what happened. One thing though - we all need to thank SamuriH for taking us as far as he could on the subject.

Let me catch you up. Sam kept giving us info on the JB build. Last we knew, Verizon kept denying build after build. Moto is going to try one more build, and if that doesn't work, then they may pull the plug. Then, Sam's source got leaked by someone, and so Moto closed that leak up, and we are now in the dark. So, the latest info is that the latest Bionic build just started testing a few days ago. It will take between 4-6 weeks for it to finish testing and get to us, probably in a soak test first. We will probably not get any more info on the build until it comes out, if it comes out. To stay sane in the darkness we've strayed into talking about other stuff. If you want a new JB thread that stays strictly to that topic, then you can start a new thread. But, until now we've all been happy with this one.

I agree, let's stay with this thread. Seems we've only got 5 or 6 weeks before we'll know the answer (to getting JB (if. 22 build is good) or not (if vzw rejects))

I sure hope it works out that way. Its killing me not knowing what's happening. We could get that figurative 3 a.m. knock at the door to tell us our Bionic's not going to make it...
