Droid Incredible Shipping?

just talked to verizon again. rep said the northeast warehouse did not get their large shipment today as it was delayed by htc. therefore all the orders are delayed. rep did not know when that large shipment would come in so all these orders can be released.

idk if i buy it but ugh i am so upset as today was my ship by date. can i ask for freebies? what would i say?

Im in NJ also, and i bought it in the store on 6/14 and was told by the sales rep it would ship today, only to find out that this was not true and not shipping til 7/12... i tried to get freebies or a credit to my account... didnt work :(

My ship day was promised for today, was confirmed on Monday for today and even lists in their DB as for today, but still no tracking numbers. CSR did say they are working overtime on getting DIncs out.

Ordered (via internet) 6/2 am (processed that same day)
shipped by 6/23
got my shipping notice 5 minutes ago

You've given me hope! I ordered 6/3 and the suspense is driving me crazy. I'm starting to think VZ is doing this on purpose. Nothing works better to drive up demand for a product like not being able to get your hands on it!

Canceling order to get the X, would've shipped the 28th so here's hoping it goes to one of you earlier than expected. :D

Standard overnight is Monday-Friday. Priority Overnight is Monday-Saturday. Little know fact, 2-day is also Monday-Saturday. Of course Saturday delivery cost extra, but I know that Verizon springs for it (as I deliver Verizon phones on Saturday quite often). If you paid for overnight shipping with a shipping date on a Friday, chances are that Verizon sprung for Priority/Saturday (although there is no guarantee:o). Hope this helps! Any other FedEx related questions, feel free to throw them my way!;)

I'm not questioning you, as you work for them, but as I said, I don't believe anyone is receiving a phone on Monday, let alone Saturday. This is weird, as these are 1 and 2 day shipments and, by your word and the FedEx page, should be delivered on Mondays. But, they're not. And, with all the DInc orders having to be mailed, I doubt VZW is footing the bill for any Saturday delivery (already giving out Next Day for free in some cases). I assume Verizon had to work closely with FedEx regarding the DInc mailings. Probably set up a special delivery schedule that is technically 1 and 2 day, but follows the standard home delivery schedule. It wouldn't surprise me. My company uses UPS, and we work out these types of 'special' scenarios with them on occasion.

HAHA so did any other 6/5'ers get an early confirmation, Please someone I need to hear a positive outcome, my voyager broke today so now I am stuck on the original enV I am suffering major touch screen withdrawls.

Note: I do not know what is in the package *of course*
Seeing how I myself delivered Verizon packages this last Monday, I can't see why the DInc would be any exception to this. Secondly, you have to imagine that we work very closely with major companies/shippers like Verizon in order to win their business over the competition. So, what you and I pay for Saturday delivery is not what Verizon/Apple/Amazon/Dell/and so on and so forth pay. "Springing" for Saturday delivery from Verizon has never seemed like something they will not do seeing how I have delivered numerous Verizon boxes on Saturdays and I have a very hard time believing that the Dinc would be some sort of exception to this as it does not cost Verizon any extra to ship as any other device. If you ask me, it would be silly to think that Verizon has worked out some sort of 'special' shipping situation just for this phone as it cost them nothing extra to ship as any other.

I'm calling tomorrow to find out more about it, BTW I'm a 6/5. I'll report back if interesting. ;)

For what it's worth, I called to cancel Dinc order. Placed my order 6/6 and they told me it would ship this Friday. Ship by date was 6/29 so seems like some orders going out early?

I don't disagree, per se, except about the DInc being an exception. The DIncs have been backordered since week 2. That means all the Incredibles that would normally be purchased at a store are now being mailed, individually, to each customer. Add that to the popularity of the phone, and Verizon is paying for A LOT of single-item shipments. Not to mention that they typically charge the customer for overnight delivery, which they are giving away now with many orders. Regardless of what Verizon pays for shipping, there is no doubt that they are paying more than usual for these shipments, simply based on the numbers and ignoring the absorbed overnight costs they are incurring. So, per unit, it wouldn't cost them anymore than usual, true. But, again, the volume is definitely costing them more. Thus why they would try to 'cut' expenses like Saturday delivery, or 'avoid' FedEx premium service charges by allowing FedEx to follow their Tu-Fri home delivery schedule. Not saying that, in the past, it hasn't been like that. But if the shipping overhead is in the red, they will do what they can to keep it in the black.

I completely see your point. One thing to consider though, FedEx is split up into individual sectors (Express, Ground, Home, Freight, etc, etc). Unlike UPS where everything goes through the same system and one UPS truck delivers their express, ground, freight and what have you out of one truck/station, FedEx is separated. A Express station is just that. FedEx Express. The same goes for Ground and what have you. At Express, we move our own freight (virtually every single package that is shipped express travels on at least one plane before it reaches its destination) on our own planes and our own trucks to our own stations. There is nowhere at any point in shipping that that Express needs to confine to another FedEx operations shipping schedule.

Without going any further into this, to put it simply. FedEx Express uses all of its own everything allowing us to deliver any package shipped through our system without hindrance or conformity with any other FedEx operation. This is why Tue-Fri does not affect DInc shipments as Express is Mon-Sat, no if and or buts.

The only thing I could maybe see being cut is Saturday. But honestly, seeing how much money Verizon already spends on shipping (just last year they bought out a local cell service and in two months we had over 5k phones/batters shipped to individual houses). Do not doubt the kind of money telecoms make and how much money they spend on shipping. Because I can tell you it's probably more than you can imagine (on both fronts)

P.S. Sorry for the long post

Fright? Is that where the FedEx Driver rings the doorbell then hides in a bush and waits til you open the door to pop out and scare the living bejeesus out of you? If so I am sending everything to friends and family via FedEx Fright shipping from now on!

Haha. Haven't you heard of the new FedEx service yet? Word is, it's due to start some time in October. Thanks for pointing that out :p

All FedEx Freight trucks should get an orange and black magnetic sign that says Fright all spooky-like to cover the word Freight for the entire month of October.

That's interesting. I know that when something goes UPS and, for example, if I'm expecting a ground package, I know that the UPS driver won't get to me until at least 11am because he needs to get the overnight/10:30am deliveries done first.

However with what you just wrote, that's not necessarily true for FedEx right?

(Sorry, I'm just hoping I get my Inc before I go to work tomorrow) :)

Good Morning all crazed individuals drinking the same Kool Aid I am while waiting for our Incredibles! I am a 6/3 order and today is supposed to be my ship day! It feels like Christmas freaking Eve! COME ON TRACKING NUMBER!!!!!!!
