Hi, I recently purchased a Droid Maxx and am trying to download the device manager on my Mac, so that I can organize photos etc and create and arrange folders etc. Previously on my Droid Bionic, when I plugged in the phone it showed up as a drive. This isn't happening with the Maxx.

Upon plugging in the phone via USB the following icon appears on my desktop.

After double clicking on that icon the following window opens

Then I get the "Motorola Device Manager Installer", which checks for updates. After the download is complete and prompts me to "Install Now" I click that.

I follow the prompts, give permissions, enter my mac's admin password and I get the "installation was successful" window.

Afterwards the Device manager does not show up in my application folder. I have tried restarting the computer, and still no joy.

I have followed these steps about a dozen times now in the hope that I had to catch up with the updates, but that hasn't worked.

Suggestions?

Install Google's Android Device Manager: Android.com

That works (at least on 10.7.5). When you install then run this, every time you USB attach the phone, it will launch.

Never got that software to work with the MAXX. I think it's only compatible with previous models regardless of what links/docs say.
