DROID Shadow pre-release thread

What info if its the same linked story it wrong and the shadow /extreme won't have a snapdragon as far as I've seen nor will the Droid 2

Wait. Last I heard, the Droid 2 is "Xtreme" and the Shadow is still shadow.

But anyhow, I've never really paid attention w/ other devices, but with both phones being shown in Verizon's Inventory system, how much longer should we realistically expect them to arrive at local stores?

July to August time frame I hear the big push is for the shadow. Though the droid2 won't be far behind

Just got my Inc. yesterday, so I have a month. Would like to see this live, but if the camera in this is no better than the Droid's, I'll pass.

Now a Moto insider on HoFo is saying that the pics posted above is of the "old" hardware... of course he didn't elaborate on what changes have been made.

After doing some reading, It seems like it Will-Not have Motoblur, It Will have 2.2 As for the camera, I believe I read it was similar to the Incs. at 8mp and it said that it would possibly be releasing for Fathers day which is coming up. If thats the case, that just made up my mind with getting my money back for my Inc and getting that. That, and its also a "very solid" piece of equipment from what Ive heard. Very strong make similar to that of the Droid 1. The ONLY thing that I dont really like about the pics is the lip it has. Not sure about that.

It has Blur, but its not like the current blur. Read the other Xtreme threads for more info.

Well you have two options then:

1) A device as thick as the hump

or

2) A craptastic camera

There's a reason its there.

the droid shadow is the droidx mb810. the droid2 is the droid2 a955.
and as of now all i know is the droid2 will have a 5mp camera hd
better keyboard. and upgraded internals

Man I'm torn I want to ditch my Storm and get a Droid phone but I drop my phone every once in awhile so the Incredible scares me from what I've seen it does not stand up to a drop.. (And no I don't want to get a case, cases add bulk and I don't want a bulky phone) Now the Moto Droid2 is tempting I'll have to see what it looks like when it is finally released and the specs are set in stone..

Well if you are prone to dropping your phone often, an expensive large-screened smartphone may not be for you. Just because the Droid or Moto Shadow is mostly made of metal compared to the Incredible, doesn't mean it's less prone to the screen shattering on impact from a fall.

Anecdote: My mom slightly tripped while holding her iphone 3g and it kind of slipped out of her hand and went sailing through the air (she was standing in the middle of the kitchen with marble floor) the iPhone dropped onto its screen at an angle such as that the screen hit the ground flat and luckily NOT A SCRATCH on the phone/screen. She was very lucky, I would have in that instant bet $1000 anyone that the screen would have been destroyed. Good thing I didn't.

I hope Motorola keep making their high end Droids out of metal. It's way better than the plastic build on the Incredible IMO.
