Hey trust me I was refreshing my Verizon page every 20 seconds at midnight on the 16th (or the morning of the 17th) waiting for my NE2 deal to apply. I am in the same boat as you. Would like it by the weekend and really hoping at worse they hit the Tuesday date. But there are way to many things going on behind the scenes to worry about why we haven't gotten an email yet.

That does make a lot of sense and I want to say it was in the 2nd year it was out but I dont remember all the details but was told it was to keep the hype going or so to say. Again I have no facts on it but rather just relaying what I was told so take it for what it is.

A lot of those rumors even from the inside comes from just plain old pessimism. If you don't know the person or company policy, its just easier to believe that the reason is solely for some financial reason then anything else. There is truth in that though, most companies do whatever they can to increase profits. But you have to recognize what helps profits and what hurts profits when creating the rumors (not you but where ever it started before it got to your guy).
Nintendo has always been about the low cost device that people buy for their 5 year old's, and tries to keep it an item that even 70 year old's might want to play. In that sense the Wii has actually been a disappointment, everyone has one but the attachment rate is the worst between all consoles. You expect that to a degree(with any system the more you have the less you attach), but its clear that the Wii became a novelty. But that only increases the need to sell more of them, not less.
Just need to look at the DS and the fact that they still sell 6 years later 500k a month on down months, and still have trouble keeping them in stock, any interruption in shipments is going to be odd. Why would a company as big as Nintendo not protect themselves from a holdup that might affect their deliveries? That's where the pessimism and disappointment sets in by all of the people in the chain, if Nintendo had been consistent in their deliveries and now suddenly not it must mean that they are doing something on purpose. But that is why its probably not the case, Nintendo isn't going to want to endanger their relationship with retailers and distributors in hopes of pushing up demand just a little bit more.
As this relates to Verizon and Motorola. We know that Verizon will never condone that. They have always been more willing to force an unfinished product out the door then to hold back sales. The phones cost them money, they want subscriptions and happy subscribers. Motorola wants to survive because the transition to smart phones by the public almost killed them. The last thing Motorola wants to do is piss of the company spending billions on advertising and branding of their phones, the only carrier worldwide that is treating Motorola products as a Flagship/Halo product. These phone are coming right of the line and into Verizon's hands as quickly as their production lines can get them to them.
This is why I love capitalism. Our whole purchasing system becomes very organic and brings with it a billion conversations that can start up in just about every spot in the supply chain.
I ordered my on August 19th. I am a new customer, coming from ATT. I just went home for lunch, and it was on my kitchen counter!!!! Luckily, the babysitter decided to not take the kids to the park in the morning, and was there when the FED EX guy showed up. One week, that is pretty sweet. I live in Philly, if that means anything. Go Phillies!
Finally got my X yesterday! It only took tech support 3 hours to get it to activate. only dulled my excitement a little though! Now for froyo...
Ordered mine In-Store on Aug 14th, the guy told me 10-14 days (im assuming business days), and the VZW site that day said orders were being shipped "By Aug 25th" the day after it changed to "Aug 31st"
I dont mind the extra wait but i still didnt get notification of shipment, Labor Day is on the 31st and FedEx might not operate on that day, and i REALLY dont feel like waiting a whole month for something that costed me 200 dollars. Actually they charged me for the phone via my cell phone account, and its due on the 8th. I will NOT be paying the 200 dollars for the phone unless i receive it before the 8th, otherwise theyll need to wait for my 200 bucks on the following bill date (in October). I am not angry, but there shouldnt be such a wait for this phone. motorola is an international company, i think they can handle this lol

Chief113, I ordered mine on the same day here in Arizona but the cs rep I talked to yesterday said the phones ordered on the 19th would be shipped by 9/3, count yourself very lucky and enjoy that beauty!
You obviously have no idea how hard Motorola was hit when people stopped buying the Razors.
Apple had a up to a 3 week waiting period for some pre-orders.
Also you got me all worked up to thinking I got next Monday off. Labor day is the 6th.

Im in AZ too, Peoria. CS didnt tell me squat. I emailed them again 3 days later (today) lets see what they tell me LOL Assuming i ordered 5 days earlier than the 19th i should be getting the phone 5 days earlier but i might be getting it on 9/3 by the looks of it. Unless some miracle happens lol
I will. So far I love it. I almost feel bad that I got it so quick. Maybe it's because I'm in Philly, and it shipped from West Chester, which is about 40 minutes away. Anyway, your's will be here soon enough!

I wish this was the case, because I'm definitely in Philly myself..and still no word on when i'll be receiving the phone. Aside from the 31st shipping date that was told to me when I ordered the phone.
Well I called up Verizon today to find out where my phone was and they informed me that it still has not been shipped. How can it say it nicely? I WANT MY FREAKING PHONE NOW.
welcome to the world of waiting for shipment!!! if we get ours first we'll come back and support you in the journey. of course the way things are going, you might get yours before some of us. this random delivery thing sucks
Ok Verizon did bug me today. At like 6 PM I get an email from Verizon telling me that I have earned a new phone. Got all worked up for a second on that title, and then it sunk in. Actually read the email and all it was an email telling me that my NE2 discount was available and that I could purchase a Dx for the price I paid.
Well 2 hours ago i got an email from VZW, told me my phone has shipped!!!! Its on FedEx Overnight, so i think its here tommorrow? Right? I hope so lol I live in Phoenix Az by the way, and i ordered mine on Aug 14th
