understood, but if you have them on your SD card and locally, that might explain why they show up twice in the list?
I think this might be what's happening with mine. I dragged my mp3 ringtones to what I think is my SIM card (not sure since I'm new at this).
I plugged my phone into my computer and I added this path to the list of folders that I could see:
media/audio/alarms
media/audio/notifications
When I added:
media/audio/notifications/ringtones
and put my own mp3 ringtones in there, I had duplicates upon duplicates so I deleted:
media/audio/notifications/ringtones
and put my ringtones folder as a stand alone in the list of folders. That seemed to cure most of the duplicates but I still find them in different places depending on what app I'm in that uses ringtones and/or notifications.
I don't see a set of folders for this that was already there before I added my own paths. If I had I would have just copied them over and not configged my own folders.
Currently my own media/audio/notifications is empty and my media/audio/alarms has just the one mp3 that I use for my alarm clock. My own ringtones folder has all the rest of them.
There is a set of EMPTY folders called:
sdcard/Music/ringtones (empty meaning there's nothing in the ringtones folder). Should I move the ringtones there and delete my folder of them? If I do this, will they still show up to select from in the various apps? I'm thinking this folder is for songs I want to listen to like I would off Pandora or an album or something.
I feel like I'm missing something very basic here cuz this shouldn't be difficult I wouldn't think.
