Duplicate stock ringtones

Ah, well that may just be something that occurs with flashing to a new ROM. Like I said, I have a duplicate as well. But I never notice unless I am changing a ringtone which is like well um never for me.

I guess you have a point there. I just thought it was strange, thats all...

Yupp, just one of many little things you will notice when installing these kinds of things. One of the many fun risks you take upon installing it.

LOL... I am gonna try and remove " Update " see where that will lead me to...

You need to be careful removing things you dont know what they do. You are going to lead to a $550 paperweight if you take the wrong thing off there.

Exactly. And then you go about to do the same thing again. This isnt like a BlackBerry where you can wipe and reload if you mess it up. Trust me.

I am tech savvy and there is a lot I would not just mess around with on this device.

I have killed my Iphone, BB, and other devices ALOT!!! and I always found it way back to norm.. Of course thanks to all you Tech Savvy peeps...

understood, but if you have them on your SD card and locally, that might explain why they show up twice in the list?

I think this might be what's happening with mine. I dragged my mp3 ringtones to what I think is my SIM card (not sure since I'm new at this).

I plugged my phone into my computer and I added this path to the list of folders that I could see:

media/audio/alarms
media/audio/notifications

When I added:
media/audio/notifications/ringtones

and put my own mp3 ringtones in there, I had duplicates upon duplicates so I deleted:

media/audio/notifications/ringtones

and put my ringtones folder as a stand alone in the list of folders. That seemed to cure most of the duplicates but I still find them in different places depending on what app I'm in that uses ringtones and/or notifications.

I don't see a set of folders for this that was already there before I added my own paths. If I had I would have just copied them over and not configged my own folders.

Currently my own media/audio/notifications is empty and my media/audio/alarms has just the one mp3 that I use for my alarm clock. My own ringtones folder has all the rest of them.

There is a set of EMPTY folders called:
sdcard/Music/ringtones (empty meaning there's nothing in the ringtones folder). Should I move the ringtones there and delete my folder of them? If I do this, will they still show up to select from in the various apps? I'm thinking this folder is for songs I want to listen to like I would off Pandora or an album or something.

I feel like I'm missing something very basic here cuz this shouldn't be difficult I wouldn't think.
