EB01 Accurate Battery with charging icons UPDATED

Can this be installed with Odin? I'm trying to figure out how to use clockwork but I am having some trouble.

No, but you can install it manually by unzipping the file and copying the framework-res.apk file into your /system/framework directory, overwriting the existing file.

You'd need to use a root file manager like Root Explorer, and I'd recommend rebooting immediately afterward, otherwise the system will freeze and do sort of an abridged restart shortly after. There's no harm in this, the system just stutters when you replace a file that's in use, but rebooting will make sure the new framework is loaded up cleanly.

installed both super clean versions and they run flawlessly thanks chris! Also a job well done with the de-binged browser on superclean!

Thanks. I used this method on my wife's phone. She has an older clockwork that doesn't seem to be working. I have 2.5.1.0 on my phone and it worked fine. She has 2.5.0.4 and it will not work. I would like to get the 2.5.1.0 on her phone but I haven't figured out how to replace it yet.

Your method worked fine but it did reset her wallpaper.

Great modification with the battery display!!! THANKS!

LOL FINE!!! No cookies for you!

Anyway, I noticed that when the battery gets to around 10% it switches to a red highlight on the inside, which I love. But I also kind of miss how the stock icon would outline in red when it got around this level. Is there a way you could implement that? Maybe have it so the highlight on the inside of the battery is red until a certain threshold, but then at like 5% or less it changes to a red outline like in Stock?

I hope that makes sense...and if don't feel pressured or anything, if you can't do it I understand. Thanks man! :)

It actually does do what you're saying, just not until later.

Below 10%, the fill turns red, but the outline stays gray.
Below 5% the fill is gone, the outline is red and the icon blinks on and off.

Next time you're that low, let the battery get down to 3 or 4%. But I can certainly turn it red earlier. Maybe I can make the outline blink gray to red below 10%.

As soon as I get some free time, I'll play with it. I could animate the icon throughout the whole range, but it would start making the framework larger in size. I thought about having the icon pulsing while on the charger, but that would require 2 to 3 versions for each %. I could accomplish the same thing with no increase in file size by limiting the charging increments to 2% instead of 1 - so each icon would pulse brighter and dimmer, but it would only count every other %. Same amount of images, but there would be two for each displayed %.

Ahhhh I didn't notice that, okay. I love the 1% increments so I don't think there's a need to change that. The animation of blinking grey to red would be really cool, but I don't wanna put too much work on your shoulders, as it looks great as it is :)

Ok, try this:

EB01_NewBatt_Framework

This is *only* for stock EB01, if it works, I'll make a similar one for SuperClean. The XML had both static images AND animated images set for each % below 5%. I'm assuming the static ones were redundant, so I just removed them, but I want to make sure they weren't needed... waiting for my battery to get down that low...

Anyway, now, from 9% down to 5%, the gray battery outline blinks from gray to red, from 4% down the outline is always red and the entire icon blinks on and off.

Let me know what you think.

Awesome! I'll give it a try now. I assume the same thing applies here, this should work with DL30 as well, just not Super Clean?

Thanks man!!

Oh, yea, sorry, if the other one works fine on DL30, this should too. Basically all I did was add 5 more icons.

Just installed and rebooted. Now just gotta wait for the battery to drain down (never thought I'd be saying that). I'll report back!

Just got it down to 3% and it works just as advertised, looks great Chris! Thanks for the good work, really appreciate it. :)

I love this battery mod! It worked perfectly on voodoo SuperClean 2.2. I installed SuperClean 2.3 voodoo then the SuperClean version of this wonderful mod and get the nasty vibrate force close that goes to a restart. This is a endless loop situation. I had to wipe data/cach turn off voodoo then install the voodoo 2.3 again, then turn voodoo back on. No biggie really. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue with SuperClean 2.3 voodoo and this mod. Again I LOVE this batt mod!!!

Which one were you using, the one on the first post or the one he just created? The one Chris just created wasn't meant to be used on Super Clean.

I was using the one made for Super Clean. Also thought i would mention that the first time it had happend i had did the mod to remove the am/pm on the clock back to back with this batt mod. After i got the vibrate
"force close" with restarts i started from a fresh 2.3 voodoo and just loaded the super clean batt mod to no avail. Maybe its just me?? anyone successfully used this with voodoo 2.3 SC?
