Android Central Question

I have two emails that I have put onto my huawei honor 5x phone. I NEVER had a problem until today. now, one email syncs but the other doesn't. The same error keeps repeating saying that they couldn't sign in. I retried the password (even though I did not sign in), and it didn't work. someone suggested removing the account and putting it back on. it doesn't work. now it says "set-up failed. reasons may be the username or password is incorrect, enable the service and try again, etc." thing is, this other account I have that is working on my phone is from the same service. they are both AOL. One works perfectly fine and the other doesn't. I need this fixed asap. one of my accounts is business based, and it is an inconvenience that it does not work on my mobile for quick checks. the account that is having this problem works perfectly fine when I log in on chrome and when I am on my PC.

I've had this happen to me with AOL. Like you I had two accounts and they never set-up the same on my devices. One would have a spam folder and the other wouldn't, one would do something else and the other wouldn't. Then one would stop working and the other wouldn't. Anyway I struggled with them and from time to time the issue seems to pop back up. My guess is that because they were created years apart I either turned on something or AOL started defaulting something and that was the reason for uneven experience.

What fixed it for me was setting up the account with WiFi off. I know it sounds ridiculous, an internet connection is an internet connection but there must be something different with how the data is transferred or the speed, I'm not sure. It was only AOL that I had to do this with so maybe it's them...

If that didn't work;

Have you tried logging in from a browser or PC just to verify that your log-in information is working and correct? Have you checked that the ports are labeled correctly? I think that ended up being my issue at least once, 504 changed to 502 or something. A quick Google can tell you the correct port in and out labels.

Push comes to shove;

Meanwhile I've been having luck with Maildroid. I've tried others and over time they all seem to annoy me or break or something else that keeps pushing me back to Maildroid but it has some pretty nice features. K-9 I hear was good, not too sure lately, and there are a ton of others. If the majority of your email needs are through AOL they have an app, that I would imagine works very well with AOL accounts, I just don't know if it supports other account types so you can have all of your email in one place...?
