Epic 4g Review Floodgates

OMG! Finally I find out...the phone rotates without opening the keyboard!. In Part 2 around the 2:21 mark he's in the browser and turns the phone. It rotates and he didn't open the keyboard. Nice! Definitely puts this phone back to the top of my list.

I would like to see the 4G connection issue clear up though.

all android phones do that.

all android phones do that.

I won't say ALL only because you never know how the carrier might change the phone. Like this one doesn't have an FM radio...and touch wiz is different from others.

So you never really know what's going to be different.

Another review to add to the list. Complete with a complaint about it freezing up for 20 seconds.

Samsung Epic 4G Phone Review - PCWorld

Nah, this review is full of crap.

The TouchWiz music player is touch-friendly and easy to navigate. It showcases album art nicely, too, with an iTunes Cover Flow-style user interface. Sound was clean over my own earbuds, and decent via the external speakers.

One of the most intriguing features of the Captivate is the Samsung Media Hub, which will come with all of the Galaxy S phones

And furthermore, what is it with all of the reviewers neglecting the fact that you can do HDMI-out through the micro-USB?

Interesting screen when receiving a phone call, nice. I hadn't seen that yet, or the task manager built in. I like! Great review. Also, I was thinking about getting a flashlight app to record video at night, but i see it has a setting built-in, nice!

Glad you enjoyed the review. If you have more questions on the device. do let me know. Thanks

Great review.

Sidenote: I'm sure some of you will get offended by this shallow criticism of the phone, but is it me or does that call screen look awfully generic? I'm all about function over form, but jeez.

Great review! saw some new features. Can the notification LED change colors? I know I am piggybacking on another's post, but would love to know.

Thanks!

I think the screen size is adequate at 4'. Having reviews the EVO. I found the screen to be a little bit on the large side for me. The shear brightness of the SUPER AMOLED screen does add a lot to it.

Sorry you can't change the notification LED color. But it does pulse compared to the Smasung Vibrant on T-mobile

Good review. It was nice seeing areas covered that haven't been on prior reviews. I'm not too sure as to how I feel about the answer screen for an incoming phone call but I'm sure it's something that I can get used to. Props for including your take on battery life. That's the first review where I have seen someone give a tested answer.

Did you test the GPS? That seems to be the biggest buzz about the phone. I'm not particularly worried about it, seems you're unbiased so I was curious as to what (if any) results you had.

Androidandme reviewed the unit and said there is a green notification light:
"1. Yes, the Epic has a LED on the front that lights up for notifications. Looks like it does red and green and maybe some other colors.

2. See the link in the story for video out over 3.5 mm jack. It’s not high-def, but still ok.

3. The software GPS issues are not present on the Epic. It looks like Samsung fixed it and should roll out to the other Galaxy S phones soon.

4. Quick settings buttons in the notification bar can not be disabled that I know of. The power control widget is still included if you prefer to use it, but I think the notification shortcuts are there to stay."

Did you see this anywhere? Plus, did you test out Handcent?

GPS works excellently, for got to add to to the review. I wasn't planning on testing it but i got lost and got a chance to use it and worked out fine with no issues

great review! Can you check if you can adjust the brightness if you partially bring down the notification bar. In the other versions, you could slide left to right on the white bar to turn up/down brightness.
