Error Message (-3) While downloading app from Play Store

While downloading an app, The download restarts a few times when it reaches 100%, then shows an error message saying "Error code: -3". Is there any way to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data?


Try going to the App Manager, select Google Play Store, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Do the same for Download Manager. Now try again.


If that doesn't work, try going to Settings>Accounts-Google, select your Google account, and remove it completely from the phone. Then add it back again, and see if that helps.

It's a Samsung SGH-I997 with Android 4.4.4, and I only have wi-fi.

Ok, does this only happen on your home wi-fi network, or on any network you try?

I'm not really sure, because I don't have any other wi-fi networks near me.

It'd be very helpful to try that (like at your nearest Starbucks or other coffeeshop).
