Essential Order and Shipping Thread

"I purchased the day I received the email. I have not received any notice that my order is in process nor has my card been charged. I checked my account and the phone is definitely ordered. I wrote to support and got an email saying they would check on the order. I have not heard back. I have a dark feeling about all this. Too much vagueness"

I have been stating my dubiousness for a few days now. For me, on a personal level, I wrote to customer service inquiring as to why my cc has not been charged nor have I received any update on shipping(I purchased on August 16th, one hour after the email came out). Though customer service is nice enough in their responses, there is never a response that is meaningful. The latest is that my account has been flagged for shipping to investigate why my phone has not shipped or anything resembling that. I am saying here, on the record, something is not kosher here. We are not being given the real story by Essential. I would even venture to say we will hear some major announcement about why they will not be shiping in the near future.
 
If the phone doesn't ship that means I have more money for beer . . . I'll go home with something . . .
 
I placed my order early morning on 8/16. My American Express was authorized then, but the charge has just posted yesterday evening (8/22). Hopefully that means the order has been processed and ready to ship today. If I don't hear anything by late this afternoon, I'll send them a message about it.

This leads me to believe they are shipping from California and they are just waiting for FedEx pickup.

FedEx system will probably update with tracking information tonight when they do their batch processing.
 
This is what I'm hoping for too. I had the same charge post as of last night to my Amex. C'mon FedEx.

On the plus side they're using FedEx.

I'm the opposite of @grooks and suspect they might be shipping direct from China and not California. I don't see Essential/Playground being set up to handle the logistics of what could be tens of thousands of units sold on day one. Plus they'd pay for shipping twice and that would be a waste.
 
Essential can sub out to logistics contractor and use contractors warehouse wherever it is.

They are subbing out for sure. When I said I wanted to cancel order they said they'd have to send message to shipping center to see if it's even possible.
 
The phones will most likely ship out overnight today and are probably starting to move right now. I'm as excited as anyone for sure but let's be patient as hard as I know it is. They will arrive. It has to be hard as a new company to get the kinks worked out.

Not hard though to post somewhere what the delay is though. At least, I do not think it is.
 
Well until tomorrow comes and no phones ships there are no delays. So right now there is no need to post anything.
