Essential Order and Shipping Thread

I bet the delays were on Foxconn's side and they kept telling Essential that things were closer than they actually were. If they can't even get packages to FedEx on time then I doubt anything else they've done has been on-time as promised. Essential might have been relaying bad info the whole time, trusting that Foxconn was being honest about their schedule.

There might be two sides to the story. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
 
Weirder things afoot.....I got an email from "Poonam" that was a mile long, saying sorry, and it will be shipping soon, cant wait to get the device into your hands, etc. etc,......but if you want to cancel just reply with Cancel and the order #" The only way I will cancel is if it shows up at a brick and mortar store before I receive it i the mail. I have not gotten any shipping information yet and was hoping I would get the phone this week, but I do not think that is going to happen now????? So Frustrating.

I have had several from her since Friday after I requested cancellation: she won't. Says it's too late despite no shipping notices. I keep sending emails to cancel and get same response 4 days after original email to them.
What we need is Andy's email address!!!
 
1. I have not received my shipping email yet. Ordered 6am EST on 16th.
2. It appears that the lucky ones that have gotten emails are getting phones Thursday? This means that I may not get my phone until sometime next week-maybe Monday or Tuesday. This assumes I get an email THIS week-which may be doubtful given the history.
3. The affirm account was charged and had a balance effective 8/21. This will have Essential being paid for two full business weeks without the product in my hands.
 
That's weird you must have got camera with your order cause I ordered mine at 8am on the 16th and affirm also charged me on the 21st but I got tracking on Friday. It looks like my shipment has left the FedEx facility in China now. It's on the way. Sorry for the people that are still waiting I know how I am with new phones and wanting them now

Yup. I wonder how long it would take before the money is refunded into account? Supposed to be in Best Buy on the 8th, will probably give them until the end of the week to ship, if I've got no tracking info by Friday I'm going to ask to cancel.

What? Camera was not available to order on 16th. Not sure what you are saying. Camera was only available to order for everyone at a later date August 23rd when they sent emails to order them. Those who took that opportunity and ordered got screwed because that delayed our phone shipments and we are still waiting.
 
That's what I was saying. That person must have got screwed because they ordered camera which delayed the order because he ordered there phone before I did
 
The thing that really gripes me is that when I ordered on 16th, it was made very clear it would ship within 7 days and would be 2-3 day delivery. I paid on the premise that it would arrive 7 days before I go away for 3-4 weeks. If theres a slippage of a couple of days, i had a buffer in there so I was fine.
The last email I got from them is that they have no guarantee my phone will arrive before 1st Sept - and seeing as I still dont have a shipping email, I KNOW it wont.
They promised me on Tuesday last week it would ship on Wednesday. Wednesday they said 24-48hrs, Thursday again they said 24-48hrs. Friday they tweeted we would all get shipping emails that night. I have received nothing so far, so it means that I have been lied to by Essential since the 16th August. I have all their emails promising me these things.
Through all this time they have had $800 of my money (phone plus additional cover).
All I have from them is a series of BS emails and broken promises.
On Saturday I received 2 emails only minutes apart - one person telling me they will cancel my order, another person telling me orders cannot be cancelled.
I know Essential are a startup, and I can excuse tech issues delaying the phone. But customer service, logistics, communication.... none of that is new. The company may be, the standards expected are not. There is absolutely no excuse for the completely woeful level of service and barefaced lying going on at the moment.
 
FYI, I ordered the phone on the morning of the 16th, and I did NOT order the camera. I have yet to receive shipping information from Essential. Their customer service has not been helpful at all.
 
Well I still have no news on my order. And I'm running out of time because I will leave the country in a few weeks. This is a disastrous launch.
 
Crazy that some of you who ordered on the 16th still haven't got tracking. I didn't order till late on the 18th and got my tracking number Saturday morning. I only ordered the phone, no camera. Mines scheduled to arrive Thursday.

I was cool and calm awaiting the phone but if it truly the case that people ordered later by days and their phones have shipped, please someone explain that to me!!! Did you reserve the phone earlier, that is my only guess, or did you just go on the 23rd and order it. Heck if I pre-order on Amazon it ships on the 1st and with Prime I could have it by next Tuesday at the latest
