Not much difference in the pics even when acknowledging slight time difference with shift in clouds and lighting.

Pics were taken about 20 minutes apart.

Ill never understand people with this mindset. You people are paying $700 for the complete package. If people keep shelling out $700 for flagships that continue to compromise in key components then companies will continue to bend us over and charge higher premiums and continue to skimp out on key features. If you don't care about the camera then you could of gotten way more for your money in terms of value/ performance/design that the essential phone for $700.

I’m a 2 phone person, so camera duty of my kids will just be handled by my iPhone. All I need from the essential camera is to take legible pictures of labels and documents I need to take for work. So hopefully it can handle that.

Looks like mine was the only one that didn't leave Indianapolis. It's still there. Guess I will hope for delivery tomorrow. Of course FedEx would screw up this package and not deliver on time

Mine shows departed Indy at 4:07, haven't received anything since, and it still shows a 10:30 today delivery, they have 7 mins. Pretty sure it would have already gotten here if it was coming. So disappointing.

Lol this..I knew going on camera is thrash but I'm fine because I have multiple of phones with me and this is not my daily driver. I'm just excited to play with this because of the build quality, unique bezel even when compared to S8, G6.
If this were my only phone then no way I would buy this given the lack of good camera for a $700 device. People better off spending money on Pixel 2 XL which will have a great camera.

Well mine showed delivery tomorrow by 10:30 and it came a day early!! But, no camera with it. The theory that phone + camera orders were delayed was not good.

Not if you want a smaller phone. Your choices are the essential phone, iPhone 7/8, S8, and smaller pixel/pixel 2. A 128gb iPhone and pixel are going to be more expensive, use less premium materials, and have smaller screens on similar bodies. There is no 128gb S8, but you do get a micro sd slot and wireless charging. It’s also got the curved screen and taller body plus touch wiz, which not everyone wants. You do gain water resistance, better camera, and better speakers.

The only one that has a clear advantage is the iPhone 8, but that might be priced $500 higher than the essential phone. So it’s not as clear cut as some think it is.
