Everybody got drain!! lol

See you're missing the key point .. it doesn't matter if the device is brand new. If an app is not programmed correctly to work (or has a bug) with said device .. hardware is irrelevant :).
I haven't come across any threads that have indicated Facebook has created lag, maybe battery drain.

Let me know though, is there a bug creating lag issues or is this a blame anything but Samsung, because that's what it seems like.

Telling people to uninstall some of the most commonly used apps is nonsense. The device should be able to run apps without lag.

What's the point of having top notch specs if people can't install apps??!!!!

I have tons of apps installed...just none of those. None of my devices are suffering from lag. Phones work fine without Facebook and Twitter, trust me on that.

It isn't just blame anything... But we try and help by troubleshooting.. Just telling people that's how it is without maybe looking into other possibilities for a solution doesn't help anyone...

They may but I have a sneaking suspicion many with performance issues have those apps installed. I may be wrong and have no problem being wrong. I'm just speaking from my experiences.

Do you have Facebook, Twitter, or any other such nonsense installed? If so, try uninstalling them and see if the lag is any different.

I do have Facebook installed and use it frequently.
I uninstalled and disabled whatever I didn't want already and have no problem getting rid of anything that could be an issue unless it's something that I use a lot. For me Facebook is on that list and really, considering the number of people who use that app, I'd expect them to be all over correcting any issues that could attributed to it.
This is my first Android phone in a few years. I've got a couple of Windows Phones and even the bargain bin Lumia 520 that I got for $20 stays smooth at all times running WP8.1. If an app fails on there, it crashes but rarely have I had something make the OS chug along.
I'm not saying that I am unhappy with the Galaxy S6, but like any other software these days there are things that can be improved.

I know people get a little grumpified if any popular phone does or doesn't lag, if any apps do or don't suck, if wakelocks are real or aren't, etc. etc. Let's add some perspective and agree that we're either going to help each other stay productive and have a good time nerding out about devices and/or helping people have a better experience - or we're going to go somewhere else and play there with other people who just want to troll and bicker and whine. Please PM me if there are any questions about this, but if there aren't I'm expecting the nonsense to stop here. Constantly riding right up to the line of trolling and just not stepping over is just as much of a problem as jumping in. Don't feed the trolls.

It looks like a Wi-Fi issue. I lost 53% of the battery over 6h of having the phone on standby with absolutely zero screen time. As soon as I turned of Wi-Fi the battery drain leveled off.
I'm on AT&T and turned off every freakin service and uninstalled all the apps, did the cache cleanup thing etc....

I like the phone but having switched from an iPhone 5 I'm returning this **** before the 14 day window closes if they don't come up with a fix... Sorry Samsung

I'm on AT&T too and don't have this issue at all. I'm getting excellent battery life.

Okay, I was able to troubleshoot this over the last few days and I think I finally resolved this.

Here's what I did:

Day 1: did the bloatware cleanup, disabled unwanted services and apps, turned of auth-sync on all accounts etc... I basically applied all the generally recommended fixes
Result: battery drained overnight, Cell Standby was at the top of the list for battery consumption

Day 2 I disabled wi-fi completely
Result: the rapid drain stopped and got about 22h on that charge. Not great but acceptable

Day 3 I disabled location history on my google account and installed the notification update from Samsung. rebooted and cleaned up the cache partition. I turned on Wi-Fi.
Result: drain resumed, and Cell Standby was at the top of the list again.

Day 4
Went into Settings > Quick Settings Tab > Data Usage > Mobile Data > disabled Enhanced 4G LTE Services. Turned on Wi-Fi.
12 hours in, no drain. I lost about 5% of the battery overnight. I'm 13 hours in on this charge and got another 11 left (predicted). Cell stand by is no longer in the list, the biggest consumer now is Android OS (4%)

Enhanced 4G LTE Services is the VoLTE equivalent for AT&T. It seems like there's an issue with this feature when combined with Wi-Fi. It seems to match reports from users on TMobile who are saying that disabling VoLTE has solved their issue as well.

I may keep the phone after all but still battery life on these phones is dismal compared to my previous iPhone but if it can hold a charge for 24h I guess I can live with it.

Hey guys - I'm following this thread to find a solution for my wife's S6 Edge. She was REALLY excited to get it, but has been pretty bummed from the horrible battery life that she's been getting. She's only had it for a few days, so everything still needs to settle in, but i'm sure hoping it gets better for her. Thanks to everyone who posted advice in here!

On a side note, I think it's pretty crazy to have an issue like this, with a brand new, flagship device. I'm not trolling here, but here is a screenshot from my BlackBerry Passport. I know that this phone DEFINITELY isn't for everyone, but i'm running pretty much every Android app that I want/need, and also have my beloved keyboard :) Keep in mind, this is over two days of use, with all services (Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, etc...) turned on.

Wow is that phenomenal battery life for your Passport! Thanks for posting...good to see the comparison with a non-Android device, especially for some not as familiar with how far Windows Phone, Blackberry and Apple have come in optimizing battery life in their devices in a pretty short time.

Android can do it too if Google gets serious about it and fixes Lollipop and pushes the fix out to all phones!!!!

Here's another comparison just for fun...I had my iPhone 6 Plus off the charger all afternoon on WiFi at my office (still LOVE my S6 edge but today is an iPhone day for me, and yes, I know, the iPhone is way less functional! ;))

With 3 hours 20 minutes off charger and a fair amount of use (50 or so texts, Facebook, Sonos music streaming, a few emails, connected to my Pebble watch, and listening to the AndroidCentral podcast on Pocket Casts!) I'm still at 97%. I know that is not Screen on Time but it is a combination of a fair amount of use plus standing by on WiFi.

I was surprised to find out that the battery size difference is not as significant as you'd think between the 6 Plus (2,915mAh) and the S6 edge (2,600mAh).

The fanboys do this to justify purchase.."just turn off everything!" ok, I should just go back to a flip phone!!! lol Comical!!
