So im disappointed in that my blueant q1 headset which is on the latest firmware (which enabled a2dp) does not support the a2dp (stereo bluetooth) with the evo. It works fine for phone calls but will not work with any media. I tested another headset i had that also supports a2dp and that worked for all media with no issues. I sent blueant an email explaining the situation hoping for a fix in a future update. So anybody that owns this headset please send them an email as well. Thanks.

Works for me, what does not work is the Voice command "Speed dial' with Evos speed dial list!

i use mine to listen to podcasts int he car all the time while the kiddos watch their movies in the back. Actually works really well.

I ran into a similar problem with bluetooth a2dp multimedia when using Advanced Task Killer. I verified it on both the Hero running 2.1 and the EVO (Hero with 1.5 had ZERo problems). It would kill the ability to play/pause or fast forward media (just installing it did it -- not even setting it up). I could still answer calls and disconnect, but no multimedia. I tested it with Motorola T505, HT820, and Altec Lansing Backbeats all with the same results. Uninstalling ATK did not restore the functionality (even after pairing/repairing several times, etc). Only after a hard reset was I able to get those features to work. Obviously, I am not using ATK now. Could it have been another app, possibly, but in my testing it appeared to be ATK that caused this. Hope this helps.

BTW:

Android 1.5 -- worked flawless even with ATK on HTC Hero

Android 2.1 -- was a no go with either Hero or EVO with ATK

Case was opened with HTC.

I also noted several other nuances/quirks (including pairing with laptops) via bluetooth. Apparently, they changed the BT stack with 2.1 and there may be some issues according to the various web forums. A quick search will reveal what others have found since the Hero/Eris (etc) 2.1 update release. Might want to Google this issue -- there does appear to be some BT concern with 2.1.
