evo sales are crushing the sprint system

I was the first one in at 8AM EST and was walking out by 8:24 AM with phone, car charger and screen protector...even had time to transfer contacts from HTC Touch diamond.

I was at BB for almost 2 hours getting my EVO because the system was down. It was great, there was about 20 people waiting to get their phones. BB was calling people to reschedule their appointments for tomorrow.

so can anyone here beat my 3+ hour activation/upgrade time? literally from a little after 8 am to a little after 11 am to have them activate my phone. mind you this is not waiting in line. actually activating my phone.
I walked in the door at 11:30, and still don't have my EVO. They even sent me to lunch, and when I came back, told me they still couldn't activate it. Seriously? 4 1/2 hours of FAIL.

BB took 4hrs to get mine activated, not only was Sprints servers crashing but so did BBs servers, sucks for the people that were still waiting.

I got to my best buy mobile store at 10am, they opened a couple of minutes early, so 2 people were already ahead of me. I did not walk out of Best Buy Mobile until 11:30 with my EVO activated. The bad part was there was one of the people ahead of me had 4 EVO's to activate, and they were only on number 2 when I left with my EVO activated. He was pissed, and had been sitting at the store since 9:45 at that point.

1 Hour and 49 Minutes to get mine activated, 4 hours later and data still isn't fully provisioned.

you should chat with reps on the sprint website...i was able to get my phone data working after it wouldn't provision. It's a lot better than having to sit on the phone and listen to the tech people treat you like you were an idiot.

Give it a try.

got at BB at 1 pm, no one waiting - 1 hr 15 mins later, left. But still won't do data.

Arrived @ RS at 7am left at 12 pm with a partial activation. No data services at this timeand it is now 2:35pm. Sprint servers crashing.

Got there at 6:00 AM, Sitting here at work at 2:34 PM, still in processing, no call from RS.

I got to RS at 6:45. Guy had already run two people through and I was the only one there. Took about 20 minutes, if that. Only disappointing thing was RS didn't really have any accessories for the phone. Headed over to Sprint store after getting breakfast with wife, and the computers were crawling. I purchased a case for mine and added the insurance to my plan, and he couldn't even get the insurance to go through. I'm glad I bought mine at RS since they opened so early.

the lady who helped me out this morning told me that the Sprint sales software wasn't recognizing the new sales codes (for 4G and the Hotspot). It took a while to get everything sorted out (which included a call to their main tech support), but everyone at the store was very patient. I'm not surprised that there were this many issues this morning (being the first huge device Sprint has debuted in quite a while), but I'm sure that things will get sorted out by the end of the day.

The Best Buy systems are also hosed. I waited in line for 20 minutes until it was my turn and then waited another 2 hours until we could get a connection to Sprint/Best Buy to go through.

But I love this phone, wow.

Ya Im a sprint corporate rep and are systems were running slow during our morning/afternoon rush. We sold out and about an hour afterwards we couldn't even log in to our systems to clock out lol.

Just got that sweet sweet call from my RS. I get to pick up My Precious right after work 1 Hour 33 Minutes 42... 40... 38... only 8 Hours, 56 Minutes late.

A buddy of mine who works for Sprint corporate said their activation servers were getting hammered...processing something like 40K orders an hour! My BB appointment was at 11am in CA. I was in and out in 45 minutes, but the reps were jumping between PCs to submit the order, because one would timeout with 503 server errors. I'm guessing there are a ton of Blackberry/Palm Pre users upgrading today!

I was in at radio shack at 9am when they opened, got sent away at 11:30 cause we couldnt get it to activate and still nothing. its 4:08 now. FAIL. now what makes me mad is I called Sprint, explained it to them, they said they had other calls like that and were willing to conference in with radio shack to get me going. (they had done this before!) I called Radio Shack and they denied me and said it had to process through their system. What a disaster.

phewww...i got in right at 10am eastern time and i was able to get it...however, the guy who tried on the next cash register over to help the next person got screwed. I was in and out within 20 minutes

wow, my activation at RS was seamless this morning, I was third to get mine about 7:40 this morning. I have since then switched the phone via my sprint account to my mainline.
