evo sales are crushing the sprint system

Got to RS at 9:30 (first Evo customer) and the system was down to a crawl. They were very helpful and tried several times with no luck. Even called Sprint CS. I had to do some errands and by the time I got back my Evos were ready to pick up. So I got mine around 1:30pm. Worth the wait. Still learning a lot (coming from BB 8330).

I had an appointment at 11:30 at BB. I went in around 10:45 and they had only activated 3 Evos before the system crashed. Long story short, I didn't get out of there until 1:30. Sprint couldn't be ****ing this up any more if they tried.

I gave it a shot by waiting in line at the flagship San Francisco store before lunch. There were 11 people ahead of me waiting outside. I waited 35 minutes and only 2 people in line got into the store. I said "screw this" bc I'd be there for at least 2.5 hours if I waited and I had to work today. Guess I don't need to be an early adopter on this one.

Gonna drive by a few Sprint stores to check out the lines... maybe even flash my brandy-new EVO to stir things up... LOL!!!! (probably not... I might get jumped!!!)

Ken

You should walk in to the Apple stores and showoff your phone there =D

You guys think you have it bad now? Hell when I first signed up for Sprint service back in 2007, I bought a Motorola IC902 Hybrid Phone on a Thursday.. After spending nearly 3 hours in the Sprint store, they managed to get my account setup, but were unable to activate my phone...

So I ended up leaving with an expensive paperweight... Three days later the only feature on my phone that worked was the Push-To-Talk Walkie Talkie. It wasn't until the following Tuesday before I was able access the EVDO network and actually make phone calls...

They ended up giving me a month free for that inconvenience.

My little town got 15 EVOs, surprising. I guess sprint had the phone ready to go at launch. Seemed like there were only three Pres at it's launch.

I got to BB at around 10:30 and it took a good 2 hours to get the phone activated. The BB employees couldn't have been better; kudos to them.

After seeing some of the stories on here, was pretty worried. Got to the Shack about 3:00, did take a little while, manager switched computers, and had it done in about 20 minutes.. he did say the only other one they had done had taken over 2 hours, but most of that was due to having to change plans.

RS just called me, they said that they voided the order and needed my CC info again, so I called them back. Hopefully everything activates fine now.

Sprints servers = Bad Company 2 Servers!!! Were still down about 2 hours ago when I went to look for a good leather holster at the Sprint store.

I bought my Evo at Radioshack, some guy didn't pick his up. I feel EXTREMELY guilty cause he probably REALLY wanted his phone and didnt get it. PS, I went to Radioshack at 7PM, that guy totally just put $50 down the drain.

Good News is I have my Evo, Complete with a 27% monthly discount.
Bad News is the Sprint Activation Problem. I'm not gonna blame it on Sprint at ALL. Im hoping for thier success and if caused a nationwide activation problem, then hopefully that means they got a lot of buyers.

PS. Sprint Customer Service Reps on the phone were REALLY nice. sooo.. I'm still satisfied.

Took about 4 hours after my phone was in hand before it would activate on Sprint. I think they're just swamped.

I'm just a bit surprised Sprint was not properly prepared for this rush of activations.. oh waitttt.. this is not the first time Sprint messed a phone launch up.

System crashed about 20 times while trying to set up my phone, i think the problem was they installed a new system at sprint, and it was mad buggy. Took me about an hour to add a line, and be out the store.

yay finally got it activated! Just have to wait an hour for data provisioning. after nearly 12 hours of nonsense...

Well, went to RS at 7PM, after work. One EVO was still there. Bought it, activated in 20 min, updated itself in another 10 min, and I was out of the door. I guess to many people went to stores in the morning.... But if you know places, you could achieve same thing without stress in the evening...

I got to my RS appointment about 20 mins early and it tooke about 45 mins to activate my new evo. It would have been faster if there weren't some other people holding up the activation process.

WOW! I've never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes with either Verizon or AT&T to activate a phone and get me my service. Yet another thing to add to my list of defuncts about carriers.
