Please forgive the dumb question i'm about to ask, but is this update for all
EVO users or only for Rooted EVO's.

New to the EVO only 3 weeks now. Thanks for your help.

Just FYI I downloaded the OTA to my PC and extracted the APK files. Loaded SWYPE and the blockbuster app to my rooted EVO running Cyanogen 6.1. SWYPE forced closed on me the first few times so I did a reboot and now it works great. So for all of those who are rooted and don't want to wait for a few days it looks as if the SWYPE APK can be extracted and used along with the others in this update . This should not be against SWYPES rules since it is being given freely in this OTA.

Update: Nix that, keep getting force close on SWYPE.

I tried copying the Blockbuster apk to my rooted EVO and it wouldn't install...
I was looking at the zip file i downloaded from HTC, and it looks like the blockbuster app is dependent on some other files... I'm just assuming, since the files have the word "blockbuster" in them... there are a bunch of them.. in the framework folder, and the lib folder, to name a few...
How do i put these files on my EVO...or should i just wait for the root folks to work their magic and root this release?

Since I tried to install the update manually and it failed. Do I need to delete the zip file I downloaded to the phone or just leave it there? I named it update.zip and moved it to the root directory?

the OP should be updated to let ppl know what version the manual update WILL NOT work with.. jus sayin'

I agree..(and thanks..I just updated my PRL). I'm rooted, and not sure I want this update...seems like just bloat?

I don't think so, there is a thread about that issue. A lot of people are experiencing the weather problem.

^^yes, the Sense weather problem is a known issue with a thread dedicated to it.

When you get the update, check audio streaming. Not Pandora or Slacker. Internet streaming, like Shoutcast or something. Does it sound ok, or screwed up?
