I must use my phone more than the average person, because there's no way I'd ever get 2 days of use off a single charge with any battery or OS combination.

with 2.1, the extended battery, juice defender turned OFF and "light" usage, i got about 9 hours

with 2.1, the extended battery, juice defender turned ON and "light" usage, i got about 45 hours

My phone was off the charger for about 23 hours yesterday and still had around 50%, again, this was light - v.light usage.

Placed my order last week was in stock, was supposed to be delivered today instead I get an email saying its backordered.

Looking at these numbers my guess nobody is using there X. I get maybe 6hours.o.

Well, that or one of the myriad other things that affect battery life like screen brightness, signal strength, update intervals, etc. Can't expect a long battery if you've got the screen jacked to 100% all the time, get a crappy cell signal, and have facebook checking every 5 minutes. Now, if that's how you like it, and what you consider to be 'using it,' then that's your choice and you have to reap the battery woes.

I use it as much or more than I did my BB Storm, and while the battery life even with the extended battery doesn't even come close to the BB levels, I get way more than a full workday out of it (talking going home with like 70%). Compare that to a friend who gets little to no signal in his office building, and he can barely make it through without topping off.

There really are a lot of variables to consider here, and it sounds like signal strength plays a big part. I wouldn't just immediately chalk it up to people 'not using' their phones.

.

I couldn't agree more about there being a lot of variables affecting battery life. However, I consistently get 5 bars, have auto-brightness enabled, do not check Facebook at all, GPS/Bluetooth off, etc. etc. and regardless, I will never get more than a full days charge out of a battery.

This app I use is pretty danng close

Five hours down to 30% listening to audio book a few twitters, AC browsing, have battery management set to turning off antenna in 15mins. No GPS, no sync, no FB, have Bw, and WB, running every 2 hours.

I found my battery life increased significantly when I turned OFF auto brightness. I just set it at a flat 50% and then use a desktop widget to toggle to 100% when I need it (which, as a matter of fact, is never).

I think auto brightness spends more CPU figuring out what level to use than it does saving battery.

I have the new battery, got it from Version for $32.50 shipped. I went 26 hours on the first day trying to deplete it, gave up at 10%. I used to sit around 30-40% at the end of the day, now I'm at 50% or more.

Thanks, Tucker. I'll try that out.

I asked a few pages back, but can some please post pics of the extended battery installed in the phone?
