Eye pain With Google Cardboard?

So I just got Google Cardboard yesterday and it's working well except for one thing. Perhaps it's because I have an uneven prescription in my contacts or something, but whenever I put it on, there's at first this unbalance of sorts from one eye to the other. It's not seeing double; I have the screen centered. It might sort of be like one eye is blurry or something, but then my brain goes into overtime and fixes it. It gives me a mild headache, but I deal, and then everything is alright until...I take the headset off and the adjustment my brain just did for my eyes inside the headset is ALL WRONG. There's then this like 5-10 second period where I'm readjusting and at first, one eye is blurry and not aligned right or something. It gives me a major headache. Is this just a byproduct of VR headsets? Does it have to do with lens distance, IPD, lens focal length, or something else? Am I doing something wrong? I'm guessing that this is the sort of thing that bigger products like Oculus or Playstation VR are planning on mending with adjustable lenses? Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks in advance!

Wait are you wearing your contacts while you wear the goggles? I was having the same issue but because I was taking off my glasses and the image was off since I have a much higher prescription in one eye. But just made cut outs for my glasses. So It's dependent on the lenses of ech cardboars but I'm sure will get better with adjustable lenses in the future.
