Eyestrain & Headaches with the S10

Sorry to hear that , hopefully your new phone is not a issue.

What is the nw phone that you traded the s10 for? I have the s10 plus and I reported that I had headaches and they never heard of this before. I had an s8 previous and I loved it but it started to become have glitches so it was time for an upgrade. I am sure it is this phone s10 because I went away without it and was fine. As soon as I started using the s10 within minutes I had a nasty headache. I used the omled app, changed the settings multiple times minutes. I obviously canot keep this phone Anyones ideas on a new phone would be helpful.

Pixel phone or 1+7 pro, I can suggest
I still have s10+
Note 9
S9+
And phones I recommend

It can also be the way the screen protector passes light through. Maybe try taking off the screen protector.

I second this. The screen protector that comes with the phone is cheap. So before you try anything else, make sure to remove the screen protector and use it for a bit naked.

I have purchased an s10e and on the first day of use itself , my eyes became red . I did not took it seriously and continued using it and I started to get blurry vision , then used blue light filter but after 20 days noticed that it was not completely reducing my eye strain . I started getting sleepy 24/7 and my vision is still blurry , now decided to sell the device cause its causing eye strain .

Hmmmm...wouldn’t think it’s a widespread issue. If the blue light filter isn’t working, it could just be that you have sensitive eyes?

Try turning off retina to unlock, or to keep screen on while using.

Complaints have been around for years since OLED displays, since Apple iPhone X too.

Wonder what an ophthalmologist would say. Aging and vision issues.

Hi Everybody

Had the same Problem like the most in this thread:
Eyestrain & Headaches with the S10

Solving the problem was:
Returning the neu galaxy S10 to the shop and
putting the old galaxy s6 back into operation..

No problem anymore..

so much of good in terms of new ill-considered technology.... :(

I used to get some serious eye strain/headaches with my Epic 4G (Galaxy S1 for Sprint) and my S3. Granted I used to look at those screens a lot more than I do now. I switched over to LG G3 from the S3 and eye strain went away. I went with the S10+ from a few years with LG and LCD screens and I can safely say that I DO NOT have eye strain/headaches from the S10's screen. I have the blue light filter on and screen brightness at 50% also screen mode is set to natural. I've found these settings to be very easy on my eyes.

I've been using my S10 now for a few days. So far I'm really pleased with the device however I've noticed I'm suffering with far more eyestrain and headaches than I was, This could be a coincidence and not be related to the S10 at all but thought I'd see if anyone else was having the same issue?

Currently my display settings are set to:
Brightness 50%ish
Adaptive Brightness - On
Blue Light Filter - On
Night Mode - On (All of the time)
Screen Mode - Natural
Screen Resolution - WQHD+ (3040 x 1440)

Thanks

While using S10 PLUS i am also facing eye strain issue, i am totally disappointed with this phone screen screen

I finally changed resolution to FHD (HD+)? which is easier to read and more like LCD.

I bought iPhone 11 LCD too. I am no longer a big fan of AMOLED or OLED Maybe worth checking out S10e.

I have the same issue. I was using an S7 until yesterday with no issues. Imediately after i switched to my new S10 I find it difficult to read the text, I have headacke and eye strian, blurred vision just after using it a few minutes.

Not all OLEDS suffer from pwm. OnePlus and Huawei both have a local dimming option which is worth knowing about!

I don't know if it will help but did you try enabling the blue light filter in the display settings?Screenshot_20200116-132510_Settings.jpeg
