I understand that they wanted to beat Apple to punch and bring out a real competitor to the iPad before Apple announced a second generation.
However, this would have only worked if the Xoom wasn't 1. as expensive and 2. as buggy.
Somebody coming from an iPad will be extremely annoyed by all the bugs and lack of Apps/features (like me). And new customers will weigh the fact that they can pay $799 for a buggy and unreliable tablet with acces to about 10 Apps or $499 for a maybe less powerful but solid tablet with access to 65,000 Apps......
