Fascinate MR2 (DL09) Waiting Lounge: Annnouncement Now on Verizon's Website

just woke back up. Was holding my breathe. If I should pass out again please let VZW know that everything will be okay and one day someone else will one up them and actual have us Ginegerbread. Hell, it maybe before we have Froyo.

Looks like I am going to be jumping into the world of ROMS. Not that I was afraid, I just didn't want to get into the cycle of having to completely clear out my phone every other week to play with them.

This has been said multiple times. Wifi will not pull ota updates.

Im about one and a half more beers away from switching back to AT&T. I never had this problem with them in the 10 years i was with them. The only reason i switched was because they had a better over seas plan and i joined the military. I have had it with the bull**** that Verizon has been giving..... or should i say not giving. Obviously they have people working for the company that follow these forums. If phones are your jobs you really research that ****. They don't bag groceries. So i know there are people that work for Verizon that are on this forum that could give some sort of truthful insight as to whats going on. Not just blow smoke up our ass. If i was as lackadaisical with my job as the people that put out these updates were i would get people killed.

With that said i really wish that their was a way that i could give back the same kind of respect that they are giving us. Unfortunately there is nothing that we as consumers can do. If i switch to AT&T then i still have to pay the $350 early termination fee so they still make money. Oh well i guess ill just wait until the end of January and see if Froyo is out by then and if not im jumping ship back to AT&T to get the iphone 4. I know that it will be out on Verizon by then but i think we will run into the same updating problems we see now. NOT WORTH IT!! Im a nerd and this is a big deal for me. Sorry for the rant!!

a long post ago, in a thread far far away....
well acutally i think it was this thread, i made a joke about if you believe that we are getting an update then i have a bridge to sell you, and then some one said they had a some farm land in greenland they would trade me, the tractor came from some where, then i asked if i could float it to greenland. well you get the picture.

Oh yeah, I think I remember it. I may as well go back and read it again while waiting...

No way will Apply allow VZW to control the updates. Apple isn't going to have their phones running 2, 3 or 4 different versions of an OS like Android phones do. I picked up a Windows Phone 7 a couple weeks ago. I'll be getting an update from Microsoft, not T-Mobile. And as a developer, I can count on my users at least having the ability to all be on the same versions (talking iOS and Windows Phone 7). With Android, I'm stuck developing on a 1.6 SDK just so I reach a larger audience.

As I've said in many other posts, Android is my #1 OS and my favorite, but the fragmentation makes it my last choice when selecting a platform for an application, and what I least recommend to my business clients.

The updates for the CDMA iPhone will still come from Apple. At the same time they're released for the GSM version.

Now, back on topic. Everyone still whining about this update, flash the Odin package Adrynalyne posted in the ROMs/Hacks forum

At this point i think Samsung isnt to blame. Its Verizon and there crappy bloatware. The updates dont work for there crap that most people dont want anyways. I think apple will be in the same spot with Samsung when they deal with Verizon!

Except I highly doubt there will be any bloat on the iPhone

Not all of us can "flash" this and that. I for one have been unable to root my phone at all. I would love to if i could but unfortunately i am on the crap end of the stick waiting on VRW

Sorry for being a noob, but I think about 1/3 of us understand what you said about Odin and Adrynalyne!

What methods have you tried?

Im on a Mac so i followed the rooting with a mac in this forum but i ran into a problem and when i posted the problem to the forum i got no help at all. I even sent a couple of instant messages with no responses.

This isn't the place for this. Im just a little pissed off at the lack of Real customer support that Verizon has given us as Fascinate customers.

You noobies out there, I know where you're coming from...TOTAL noob myself month and a half ago. Just keep plugging away..you will get the hang of the flashing stuff ...ok back to *****ing about update :)

Working on flashing myself, as long as you educate yourself first things should go great.

Fo those saying that you want to flash and root. Read the post called ROM MANAGER in this same forum.
