When is Verizon supposed to start pushing the OTA?

Announced on the 10th...pushed on the 12th

Lol, I just cant wait to have my 4 buttons at the bottom stay lit, gotta admit when I first got my phone it was frustrating trying to use them in the dark.

That is definitely a plus. Mine is keeping the lights on now. I was tired of guessing where the buttons were if I was in a dark room.

So how did you do it?

Have you used the stock email app with Exchange? It's really horrid compared to Touchdown. You're security guy probably wants support for remote wipe, which I don't think this release supports.

for me I think it's the fact that there are so many different versions of the software. In Europe you see only one but here in the US you have to wait because we have to deal with different bloatware, different firmware and different configurations provided by the customer that was not originally intended by Samsung. why is it that all other international carriers have their updated even to 2.2.1 and not US.

So let me get this straight, Verizon was supposed to begin the OTA push on the 11th, but so far out of all the forum members only one has reported that it was received. In addition, the one reporting the update has not posted a screen shot, or anything else to verify he actually received it.

I think I'll remain skeptical as to whether Verizon has actually started the process until a few others report receiving the update.

I was told by Verizon that there is no software update and if there is we have to be quantified to get it.

I can't say for sure if it does or not, but I know IT/IS departments like the security features in Touchdown a lot more. As a user, I also find it much better to use, but that's just me.

I don't think we are getting a update for DL09... If you go out to Verizon website the update page has been pulled...

I downloaded the update last night around 8pm on my wife's Fascinate. Go into Settings/About Phone and check for updates. Make sure your wifi is off otherwise it will tell you there are no updates. It has to check through the cell data or it won't find it.

Haven't had time to play with it yet but the install was quick and seamless. Haven't done mine yet because I'm rooted and running a custom ROM.

Moving your post to the waiting room. If your wife's phone received this OTA, and it was indeed DL09, I will move this back to the "I got the OTA sticky". Nobody else has received it, so maybe she recieved the update prior to this. If I'm mistaken let me know. You can see her current version in the About screen.

The bottom button lights work in conjunction with the screen timeout setting.

What feature in 2.2 did you like most? It didn't seem all that exciting to me. I do think we should have the latest and greatest, but I'm just curious what you miss.

I was equally fond of the JIT Compiler (it seemed to be much faster...when placed next to a deputy's same phone...my blew his away when his was still on 2.1 and i was on 2.2) and the flash..granted it was not fully functional but hey something is better than nothing at all!

If I flash this DL09 update myself what happens when the OTA comes? Will it screw up things or not come at all?

Is there no way we can get an update straight from samsung and cut out verizon all together? Maybe even 2.2 or 2.3 and get rid of all the bloatware? Still no update in South Carolina

Not unless a ROM dev creates one and nobody has yet.

I was getting a server unavailable response for a while trying to check for updates (around 4:30 EST). Now it's back to reporting No updates..

fascinate update posted on Verizon website

I taked to John at Verizon tech assist yesterday (January 11) he said the update would start today January 12. I have tried all day today and I have had no luck getting it to down load.
