Dame i wish we can sue Verizion for false advertising for advertising a working phone and strong arm us on re signing for another 2 years and on top of that screw us with a 2-4 hundred dollars when we find out later that a major aspect of the phone dose not work. And bend the truth and tell us the will be an update but we don't know when but it will be soon .. So we keep the phone because we see what the phone can be with a proper build also we believe the cell company that we!! pay and pay with our hard earn money probably doing jobs that we don't like.. But we want good phone service.
So we pay more a month get into a 2 year contract and know that Verizon will slam us with hundreds of dollars if we deride that we don't want to pay that high monthly charge and deal with the Verizon lies.. Hey Verizon!! people are not Robots that are programed and don't change there mind. And a cell phone is not a house or a mortgage. Dame a mortgage is easier to get out of than a Verizon contractAnd now we only will have 15 days to decide if we to keep the phone . We only have 30 days to send in the rebate and to decide if we want the phone but how can we decide anything if you don't tell up the dame truth about the freaking update!!! i wish Verizon had a poll of (Who has Verizon service? And who has it but want to switch but cant get out of there contract?) I bet the poll will be shocking.. 2.2 would be nice but i think were stuck with 2.1 for a wile

After going through the debacle that was the Droid X 2.2 "fix" and now this, I have filed a complaint with the BBB. The fact that VZW sold accessories that were labeled to only work with 2.2 implies an update is coming. The fact that the GPS doesn't work out of the box is a warranty issue. Verizon has done nothing about EITHER for 4 months now. I'd say that is grounds for a complaint.

After living through 2 years with a Storm I under Verizon's guise of support I have come to become a hardened realist. Until it is downloaded to your computer or is currently on your phone it does not exist.
It is easy to fall victim to interpretations, fabrications, pranks, and rumors.
Take advantage of the resources that do exist. The Dev guys have put together some great ROMs and I have been flashing new fonts and themes, kernels,... the list goes on.
I am not going to spend a lot of time complaining about a (currently) nonexistent update.
goodness... if that happened, they'd lose a bunch of repeat customers
I promised myself I wouldn't sit around waiting for another speculated update, and lo and behold I'm hitting refresh on this thread and the main page every 15 seconds... Dooped again...
Oh come on. Not to be incredulous (since it's easy to read that into almost any of my posts)... But where would you go? They aren't competing with some superior platform that offers unique openness and cutting edge hardware. If you wanted an iPhone you would already have one. Sadly, at the consumer level, Android has so much momentum that companies just want to keep the fire burning at the cutting edge to attract more people and could care less what happens to aging devices. Repeat customers? What are those? Every device is a new experience.
People purchased the phone under the guise that Froyo was coming in the next couple of weeks, and Samsung has been selling accessories that do not work 100% w/o 2.2 OS. So it is less about it being just an update and more about customer service and being lied to.
I meant samsung... HTC and moto seem to have a better track record at updating their phones. jumping carriers is also another option as well esp with vzw doing away with the NE2 stuff.
Neither Verizon nor Samsung ever said 2.2 would be "available in a couple weeks" either ay launch or since. If a rep in a store said that, take it up with the rep and that store.
Some of you are taking this way too seriously...
It's an update. For a phone.
Relax.
