Fascinate SD card will not mount on a MAC with DL09/EB01

I think you're right.

I have a few choice words that I cannot use without crossing the line of unprofessionalism.

Ok, this is my first post, EVER, and want to commend and thank each and every one of you that has sacrificed your time and energy seeking the hands-on answers to all of our questions. Each of you are a Godsend.

I too just now came across the fact that I cannot mount my Fascinate to my Mac. I realized this while finally deciding that I could wait no longer to root my phone and unleash the capabilities for which it was designed.

However, because I cannot mount the phone to my Mac, I can't go through with my attempt at the root. Does anyone know if the zip files to root can be transferred from my Mac to the SD card (via card reader) and into the phone without any issues?? I would imagine it would work fine, but has anyone actually had to do it?

Welcome to Android Central. The zip files can be transferred that way, but you are still going to need to use ODIN for at least some of it. Have you seen these threads? Perhaps they can help:

Thank you for the references. Yes, I have seen those, but now I am just concerned because my mac won't recognize the phone. I was all set to take the plunge and now I'm getting cold feet again. Oh, is there ODIN that will open for a Mac user?

hey guys, I'm too lazy to read thru everything you all have said to see if somebody's already mentioned this, but a workaround that I found is to just use bluetooth to transfer files. Most applications in android are designed to scan your whole sd card for files -- and anyway, samsung includes a file browser. The only problem with this is that it's quite a bit slower.

After updating to 2.2 froyo OTA, it works just like it used to, like a flash drive. Seems they fixed the problem with this update.
