Field Test versus Programming Mode

On my Thunderbolt I have been trying to get my network extender to connect to it. I recently noticed my SID number was different (114) from the Incredible and Eris (139)in my house when running a field test (##33284). So I changed it in the programming mode (##7764726) but a field test still gives 114. Anyone know why that is? The programming mode shows that it is changed to 139.

Thanks

Are you running a 3G Network Extender? Mine works good if I set my phone to 3G (i.e. Phone Info).

Otherwise, it has data dropout issues while trying to latch on to a very weak native 4G signal.

I have a 3G extender but no fear of hitting 4G. I live to far out in the sticks. Ill try that. Which setting do you use?

1) Dial *#*#4636#*#*
2) Scroll down to Set preferred Network Type, change to CDMA auto (PRL).
3) Press return arrow to backout all the way

Unfortunately that didn't work either. I have no idea what is going on. Does anyone know the difference between the field test and the programming menu?

Forgot this step: 1.5 Select Phone Information

As for the difference between Test and Programming... depends on the context. Beats me what you read.

Why would my SID # be different in those places and an even different number in the Phone Info app? Just trying to understand. Thanks
