It did not actually fail on stage it worked as it should they just forgot that pointing it at another face would lock it! I am an android person these days and I prefer a FPS but Face ID in the iPhone worked properly right off the bat. I can only imagine the social media backlash if Apple released a FPS that needed you to moisturise to work properly!

Yes if Apple should have released this instead of Samsung it would be fingergate all over the internet

Always a possibility but that doesn't make it less of a problem and OK for Samsung.
It is what it and I hope they fixed it for the sake of those having trouble. Licking your fingers and moving to a warmer climate is not a solution....mildly entertaining though.
Or...Maybe Samsung should give this away with each one instead of ear buds... Lol//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190312/18f13a21dd83918a6d801726fcfb5888.jpg

To me, if I was still having troubles, no...I would not return it for the FPS issues but I can understand why some might. This S10+ has turned out to be a beast of a phone and I like it more and more each day. Now that the FPS is working better I like it even more.I wonder if it's worth returning them for the people who are struggling. Very well could be a bad batch!

Yes I don’t think it is ok from Samsung, I think it is a disgrace releasing this far too early just to be first with it when it works as bad as it is
It works great for me and a lot of others. So its not a "disgrace" as it works as intended. Look how many complained, and now admit it actually works well. Talk about an overblown issue. Samsung haters have to find something to hate i guess.
I don’t hate Samsung. I have owned every Galaxy S model and every Note model released, even the ill fated Note 7. But I still don’t think it is ok releasing such a badly working FPS on their flagship. The one my Note 9 worked so much better
They say apple owners are fanboys but Samsung owners are even worse, every time you say something bad about Samsung you are a Samsung hater. I don’t give a **** about brands on my phone, if it is apple, Samsung or Huawei doesn’t matter. But for this much money it should work better than this
I need to say a few things, based on the comments I've been reading:
First off, any time new technology is released - whether it's new across the board, or new for a particular brand, there's a learning curve and some tweaking that needs to happen. Period. Those of us who love the newest, shiniest, cutting-edge devices, and want them as soon as they come out the oven KNOW that the best version of a device is at least a software update away. I know this. I've known it for a long time. So I accept the glitches, in exchange for having the newest phone before most people have it.
Let me keep it 100% - the fingerprint and iris scanners on the s9 were PERFECT. Folks melted down about the scanner being on the back of the phone - I think I hit the camera twice in the beginning, and that was it. The iris scanner was quick and accurate. BUT folks get bored and have to have the next greatest thing - which often comes with a higher likelihood of failure. It's like when power windows on cars came out. Power windows are great...until they get stuck and there's no way to crank the window up - and the rain and snow blows in your car (yes, I'm old). So if you want perfection, or close to it, you wait until the kinks get worked out.
I just noticed. You have 4 thumbs? This scanner has a huge learning curve. So far I can only get it to work 50% of the time with one thumb. The other 3 don't work at all.
I sometimes miss those crank windows. Nothing worse than a stuck window in the rain. My teenager will never know the joys of cranking that window as fast as you could in the drive-thru!
Unless it's a tempered glass screen protector it's not protecting nadaI am not removing a screen protector on a $1000 device. That's just stupid.

I got 4 grandkids who will show you that plastic pos isn't protecting nada from even scratches. The plastic I got on my one pro got scratches from my 2yo. Them tempered glass ones isn't 50 bucks for nothing they work. I'm just rocking a case obit but best believe if I had a s10 or even an 10e I would spend 50 more bucks for a REAL screen protector. All screens protectors protect from scratches.
I have yet to see any proof that tempered glass actually prevents a screen from cracking or breaking. Does it offer extra protection? I believe it does but so does plastic film or hard plastic protectors. Tempered glass may protect from certain drops but there's no guarantee it will. I have dropped every device I owned with and without every type of screen protector. I have yet to crack a screen.
