Finger print sensor improved as to Note10+
The earpiece speaker is clear with none of Note10+ noises.
Lefthand placement of S-pen non issue with removal, but sticking back in my hand goes to the right 😝
Speakers are louder than the Note10+

I'm not to happy with all the cutting of corners. The N20U is more expensive than the N10+ but lacks:

-Screen protector
-Extra nibs/S=Pen tool
-45watt charging
-256gb storage

All are available on the N10+

After playing with Black Ultra and Buds Live for few hours, coming from a Note 9 here are my impressions:
+Only slightly taller than N9, camera bump not as large in person
+120Hz mode is awesome, buttery smooth everywhere
+Camera, having ultra-wide to 50x in your pocket is very powerful and versatile, can capture anything anytime
+S-pen more responsive and features refined
-120Hz only in 1080p, text and graphics not as sharp as 1440p, yes I can see the difference
-Fingerprint scanner still slow and inconsistent, better than N10+ I had briefly but still disappointing
-Camera photo quality mediocre, too much processing and noise reduction applied
-Despite .5" larger screen, doesn't display any more content

Most likely going back to Samsung, the lack of 120Hz at 1440p and fingerprint scanner are deal breakers.

Buds Live, finally an open ear design, comfy and decent sound for a wireless bud, will be re-ordering if I end up returning the N20U.

To add to my earlier post, this phone is a beast and I absolutely love it. The battery life is thoroughly disappointing for a €1200 phone though. It won't make that much of a difference to me because I'm pretty much always close by a power source but will buy a decent battery pack just in case.

You couldn't possibly be discussing the battery life yet, give it a week or so to learn your usage etc...

Was it always possible to add more than 12 columns on the app edge ? I feel like there was a limit on my n10. If that's new Im loving that. If it's old , I'm glad I finally figured it out.lol

Anyway I'm almost done setting everything up. Now I just need to find another screen protector.

Phone off charge at 7:30 and at 10:30 I’m on 83% with little use. Issue i have is on 4G i have one bar so it’s likely going to hurt the battery more than at home

Screen is fantastic and i have moved text to the lowest and it looks so much better than the big icons. Took me a good 3-4 hours to get everything set up apps wise and i still have more to do as in put in passwords e.t.c

I still have my screen protector that. Came attached but might move it.

I have the samsung silcone case on and i must admit the bump isn’t noticeable for me.

I agree, for a $1300 phone I would expect it to be equal to the Note 10+ Samsung definitely is maximizing profits on the Note 20 series, both regular Note 20 and Ultra. The camera and 120 screen is about it. Still have to wonder about battery life as opposed to a Note 10+ also. I'm sure they could have stuck the 5000 mah battery in the Ultra, and left it at 256 storage.

I am very impressed so far. I have been trying to get away from Apple for years and this phone has a legitimate shot at keeping me away. Paired with the new buds live and frontier watch, I feel so comfortable. Excited for everyone else to get theirs as I believe it will live up to their expectations. Fast, fast, fast. Feels so much better than the s20 ultra. Highly optimistic about still having it 6 months from now! Congrats everyone!

I am also trying to get away from iphone. I've tried before but went back fairly quickly. Do you like it enough that it will hold you? I'm hopeful once I get mine I'll feel that way.

Doesn't it take a while for the battery to settle?

I can definitely say the fingerprint sensor is way better on this Note 20 Ultra compared to the S10+. It responds and unlocks way faster without any problem at all.

That is good to know! I've never had an issue with my S10 but I know other users have. It's good that the software is improving!

Yeah it seems signal is so bad in the office due to them putting up 5G towers and removing the old ones or something....

In other news the fingerprint sensor so far is flawless.

Good to hear since I read a lot of complaints about the S20 sensor being iffy.

Still waiting to get mine. Due today. At local facility. Ugh. Were there any OTA updates out of the box for the unlocked version?

The colors aren't as vibrant as they appear on my Note 8 but that's not a bad thing. Photos and videos appear more "life-like" now. Took a while to get use to the difference but I'm starting to appreciate it.

Update: with use the screen colors have become more intense.

The N10+ has great battery life. I'll give the N20U a week of routine usage then pass judgement.

My initial impressions:

The FPS seems so much better to me than the 10+ was - but I wonder how much of that is because I just installed my Whitestone Dome and registered my prints. My past experience on my 10+ was that it would would well, but then a week later, it won't be as responsive. I think also, my fingers may be the culprit. I recall whenever I get my fingers printed with ink, it usually has to be done multiple times.

The camera punch out is actually smaller than the 10+. The back cameras are not bothersome to me considering I have a case that makes me not even notice the hump. That said, I also have Spigen Thin Armor and the Neo Hybrid as well, and those cases will have the hump protruding. Believe it or not, I think I might actually like a hump because I notice my index finger when I hold the phone feels like it's searching for something to latch on to, and without the hump - my finger goes right to the periscope camera instead. I know, weird.

I need to get used to the S Pen on the other side.. I have a feeling this was put on the other side due to the periscope camera taking up space.

Whitestone Dome is great so far. I also put a glass protector on my back camera because I got paranoid. I do not know if I will keep it, but I will experiment with it to see if picture quality is degraded since the glass covers the cameras themselves which I am not a fan of.

I have to admit that the 120hz does make a difference. I thought it was going to be no big deal and it certainly isn't a deal breaker for me, but seeing it in just the launcher animations and scrolling is pretty amazing. I don't have a problem using FHD since that is what I always used. Yeah, sucks that QHD doesn't have it but even if it did, I'd still be using FHD anyway. The screen is beautiful as usual from Samsung.

No issues with the buttons on the other side. I think it was finally done this way because they realize that when people watch videos in landscape on a stand, it made changing the volume a hassle since majority of people watch landscape with the cameras to the left.

The SIM card tray is still made of plastic. I don't know why Samsung doesn't make this metal considering you press the SIM card and SD card into it. I had one of these break on me with my S6edge and your phone is kaput with no SIM card until you fix it. It's such a fragile piece of plastic.

I don't even know if 5GTE works because it doesn't exist in NYC. Just "5G"...

Speakers sound like they are a little louder than my 10+, but if not louder, definitely richer in sound. However, I still don't think it matches the speakers in the iPhone.. Somehow, the speakers in iPhones sound really rich and you can notice some bass even with those tiny speakers - whereas Samsung speakers are certainly loud and even louder but just not as rich when I listen to them. But good that I think there is an improvement in these speakers in the N20U.

That's all I have for now - just initial observations. So far, I love the phone. I guess more will come out as I use it and finish setting it up.

I will also add my voice that one that that is very disappointing is indeed the nickle and diming by Samsung with the Note series. No headphones (I know you can call them allegedly), no pen tips and therefore no pen tip extractor, no USB-C to USB-A adapter, flimsy 2 piece plastic film (remember when the whole phone was wrapped), what else did I miss? I guess it's a bit of principle here consider what we pay for. I know so many people said that they never use the headphones anyway, so it wasn't a big deal - but then look at everyone planning on calling Samsung to get them anyway. It's really the principle and we paid a lot. The Samsung excuse of people not using them anyway is bogus if you don't give value added back to the consumer. Also, I guess by people they meant the US only??

I feel like they are getting lazy. First of all, enough with all these variations of what someone gets out of the box depending on what countries they are in. Everything from CPU, to what's included in the box. When you have a conversation about the phone with someone, it's weird that the other person could have a completely different experience from you. I find this part the most annoying thing of all.

Anyway, back to the phone. The last vent had little to do with the phone but more Samsung philosophy itself. I'm enjoying it but now work gets in the way of me finishing setting it up. :)

Again - I really love what I see and very happy with it thus far! I'm sure I'll have lots more opinions on this as I discover them.

Just finished added the Dome glass protector, then redid my finger print and finger print works 100% no issues at all. Tomorrow my camera Dome glass will be here , also Dome glass protector compatible with UAG case.
