[FIX FOR] Netflix "syncing" issue

When Netflix became available for first time I remember DL'ing and being disappointed by the sync issue. My video was running slow while the audio went on at normal speed. So I trashed the app. Then months later, for what ever reason, I decided to try again. Apparently they fixed the problem because like magic my Netflix app worked great on Froyo. It was Netflix 1.5.2. Around the same time I started trail blazing my way through the root process and started loading different roms and such. I backed up that 1.5.2 via Titanium Backup but ever since it has not synced properly on any other rom except stock froyo. Currently I have 1.2.2 netflix and my previous post explains how I got around the update check. However, I'm still testing other versions and plan to keep you all posted should I find any better options.

Okay the link supplied at the beginning of this thread is Netflix version 1.2.2, I got around the update check using airplane mode and: success!

However, 1.2.2 has a lame green bar at top of screen and some weird discoloration. Netflix 1.4.1 syncs better than the current version available on the market, however, I still have to use airplane mode to get around the update check. Still it's worth a try for anyone who is interested.

Okay. Some members were posting about issues of the audio/video not syncing. I have just discovered what the issue is. The newest update doesn't want to work right on our phone for whatever reason. So, for now, I suggest using this app (most recent build prior to current) and enjoying Netflix for what it's worth.

Just download this app into sdcard. Use a file manager to navigate to this app. Select it. Hit install. Enjoy.

This app is not edited and is the pure official version. It will ask you if you want to update. Just hit cancel.

I still recommend using a governor other than smartass if you are experiencing any more issues during playback.

please post this in the prevail section of the forums found here. These are the forums for the optimus s, so we do not have your device, and other than very generic things, cannot help you.

If you have the original motorola cliq, the forums for that device are found here. That said, the forums for your device seem (unfortunately) to be dead. Your problem may be a bug with your port, or the app my not play nicely with your device. I'm sorry I can't help you more.

Whenever i try to watch Heroes or The Office on a version that fixes the sync, it always says 'this title is not avalible for instant stream' but when i update the shows play but theyre not synced -,-

Optimus V here. I was using Netflix 1.2.1 for the longest time as newer versions caused stuttering and sync issues. It worked great for a few months.

Now it won't let me watch anything trying to force an update on me. When I try to watch something it says my phone has been deregistered. If I download the update it will let me watch programs but it's jumpy and off sync. If I restore the old version again it says it's been deregistered.

Anyone know of a fix?

I got it to download and when I open it, it ask me to update it and after I hit cancel, its just blank.

Comparing that device to an optimus doesn't help is apples and oranges, see below for details.

Let me guess .... even the new update has stagefright disabled? LG is using or at least used to use, a janky non-standard solution instead of stagefright so apps see the phone is on a build that is supposed to use SF, but doesn't which causes issues with streaming media.

Could be wrong though I haven't looked at the new release.

Sadly this doesn't work anymore. It's frustrating. I had this same version backed up with titanium. When I try running this, it goes to white screen (after declining the update) . Then nothing happens. It won't exit when I try to exit. it would be nice to have Netflix working again in sync. I wouldn't care if there was a green line if it was in sync.
