forgot pin to lock my screen. Is there a way to access phone without hard reset?

I can't remember the pin I set to lock my screen-really don't want to have to hard reset the phone. Is there any other way to get access to my phone again?

If you are rooted and have twrp installed you can use twrp file explorer to navigate to /data/system/ and delete password.key.
