Former Note 7 owners Pre Order Link here!

Would you jump to the V30 then?
Already have Z2 force, Essential phone coming in, will buy the iPhone 8 and Pixel 2 XL. So no room for V30

Honestly was planning to skip the Note 8 as well but couldn't resist the $425 off.

Did they reverse it for many people? I'm so curious? I missed this whole debacle because I didn't have a S8. Care to share, because folks weren't very specific here and I was curious as to what was going down.
Yes I believe so, they did revert for many people, this is $200 off of any trade in. Later they changed the offer details but they did honor the trade in offer price for many people who sent in some $30 Walmart phone etc.

Either way there is a high probability that Samsung (3rd party dealing the trade in), may reject the trade in with some stupid reason but you may have to follow up a bit and I believe eventually you will get the $425 off as long you sent the right phone in and in decent condition as described. Remember this is also a special offer for the Note 7 owners, so Samsung hopefully is careful here and wouldn't want bad press after what happened to Note 7.

I was about to pull the trigger but didn't. I have an old iphone 5S I could trade in.

It all came out to $546 with tax with 128 gig memory card and wireless charger, a savings of $613, but i'm in T-Mobiles JUMP ON Demand plan, the newer one with 3 upgrades per year. I could get the Note 8 with $0 down and use it for a few months, pay $39 a month on Jump on Demand and then switch to the V30 or iphone 8. I don't thinks it worth it paying $546 just because I'm saving myself $613 and knowing myself, I wouldn't sell it online. I already have a Huawei Mate 9 and S8+,. I don't need three phones.

That's what I was thinking. I'm like, "Do they really want to test the waters and try folks after all of this?". Why not just take the L and say, "Thanks for giving us a phone in order to give you credit." and call it a day?

It will definitely be interesting. I'm going to take a picture of my phone when I get off from work so you all can see. Once thing I can say is that paint on the home button has cracked. Will they trip over that?

The trade in issue wont happen again. They learned from their mistake and refunded many people who had the trade ins denied that were not justified. Especially considering these are special trade ins for note 7 owners who had already been screwed they will try their best not to screw them over again. Simply CYA by taking pictures of your device before sending and maybe a small video showing it powered on and functioning perfectly. Dumb not to take advantage of this. Even if you don't want the Note 8, you could sell brand new sealed on swappa for at least $850 and make a $300 profit plus a free 360 camera.

I got the email from Samsung and have tried many times to preorder the Note 8 and trade in my Note 5. It keeps saying it can't add it to the cart or it gets to the payment and can't continue. I wonder if the servers are overwhelmed.

I was having the same issue I finally got it to process using the shop Samsung app. Even that took multiple attempts on the final checkout screen.

Okay, so the links just worked for me after screwing around for an hour.. cancelling my original order... yada yada..

The TRICK to getting the stuff in your cart is to make sure you are signed into samsung before you start!

So.. open up a 2nd browsing page go to samsung.com and log in. Then click to this tab, hit the link.
On the link, enter your email to see if you qualify.. then, the page will load.. before hitting preorder, make sure you are signed in via the 3 lil bars..

I've been using the test 2 link. Once you are sure you are logged in, you can preorder. Otherwise, you toss everything into your cart and when sammy has you log in, it deletes the cart out.

I was amused by receiving the email hours after placing my order. I thought I was getting something extry.

Picked up an unlocked iPhone 5 in good condition from eBay for $80 which I'll use for trade in. Overall Note 8 cost $610. I'll take that.

I pre-ordered 2 Notes last August and took advantage of the 2 year agreement to get the discount as I was month to month. I returned both Notes and received my refund. I am eligible for upgrades on both lines however, it still shows my contract expires 8-2018. I want to take advantage of the offer from Samsung and do the DPP and get the phone at but I don't want Verizon to give me issues. I purchased my current phones through Swappa so I own them. Any feedback on this would be helpful ss I have never purchased using DPP

I'm so irritated...I want this phone but I got the v20 after having to return the note 7 and I can't afford this right now. I think the carriers should honor this too dammit! That way we can just swap over painlessly and just add the extra time on the contract.

Even if carriers jumped on board you would still have to own your phone free and clear to trade it in. They aren't going to pay off your balance and give you a trade in credit.

I know it makes sense, but it's BS for the fact I was happy with my note 7 and was forced to surrender it, so now I think we should be able to get the note 8 with no issues. but obviously that is not the reality of it

Buy a used phone, trade that in, get the Note, sell the LG.

I might give this promotion a shot. How long is this going on for? I'll talk to my dad tomorrow about using his charge card again like I did for the s8.
