Former Note 7 owners Pre Order Link here!

I understand that it isn't listed , but at the same Time I also read the fine print. It reads "Note 5, LG G4 and above" it doesn't say s8 or s8 plus either but i bet theyd take that. Sure it doesnt work, but hey that's on them anyway. Besides that they are selling the note 7 fan edition too.
Hoping I can get a cut and dry answer asap.
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah Im sure they will take the S8+

It says "The following devices are eligible to be traded in for the Promotion: iPhone 5 and above, iPhone SE, Galaxy S5 and above (including Galaxy S Active models), Note 5, LG G4 and above, Google Pixel & Pixel XL. "

If I have original Jump on Demand with T-Mobile will I be able to purchase note 8 from Samsung and it not affect my JOD?

I just called Samsung to confirm this promotion. Its deceitful at best and downright dishonest at worst.

You'll receive "up to" $425 for the devices mentioned. But the amount you actually receive wont be confirmed until their warehouse verifies the device being traded in. I was about to snag a G4 from Swappa and do the same - but sounds like I'd eventually be screwed. Add in the fact that they wont charge you back after "evaluating" until you're outside of the return window.

They give you the $425 discount up front at the time of purchase. But are saying that the actual amount you'll save wont be determined until their warehouse reviews the device being traded in. And like I said, none of us will get that confirmation until outside our return period.

All of this as a way to "treat" previous owners of the Note 7.

I was just ready to do this and I'm kind of confused right now?

I have a little over a year left on my v20 with AT&T so if I do this via Samsung direct, how will this work with payments and my existing at&t monthly payments?

Will it just continue at&t monthly payments only?

thanks

You're responsible for paying off your phone so I'd probably pass if I were you because it sounds like you might end up paying more money for no good reason.

The thing that kills me is I wasn't approved for financing so my only option is to pay $500+ in one go. I hope Sprint has their own Note 7 owner deal

That is what I was trying to point out earlier and why I'm leery on pulling the trigger. Similar to the S8 promo recently. People send in the device then they will claim it doesn't power on or that it's not in working condition even though it was near flawless when shipped.

If you have an S8 I would just sell it outright instead of dealing with the program and get at least just as much.

When I ordered they told me exactly how much off I would get for my device which was $425. I completed the order with $425 off my total

yes, but then if the warehouse decides your phone isn't in working condition you get charged the full amount then. This happened with several people with the S8 promo that had working phones and got jacked.

Yes. They told you based on the category of devices you selected. They didnt ask for specific device information.

The way its detailed on the site is - a LG G4 will receive the same credit as a S7 Edge. And they give that discount upfront.

But are essentially reserving the right to charge you back up to ALL $425 of that - once the device has been inspected by the warehouse.

To make matters worse - you can guarantee that inspection and subsequent follow up wont happen prior to the return window expiring.

OH. And. You're now out a device. Since they will not return it to you under any circumstance.

After the debacle with that similar S8 Promo recently I'm leery of that. They will certainly find some BS reason to give you less money. It's a third party they use I think.

I think Blue is on to something. I am going to just keep my pre order with T-Mobile. Thanks Blue for pointing this out

I would keep the Tmobile order. I'm not saying it's a ripoff, but if you read the S8 forum you will see a lot of complaints about the last trade in promo. People sending in fully functioning iPhones, G4, S6 only to get $25 for it despite no damage to it.

If you're like me and have newer phones like the S7 Edge and S8 Plus you would be better off selling it outright to recoup some of the cost.

I hope they will treat this different, especially for the Note7 trade-In's, so they don't p!ss off that crown again.

Edit: Really, p!ss is censored?

Yeah agreed, I specifically choose iPhone 5 and they reduced $425 off. As long as the condition is good they should honor it. I'm aware of screw ups they did with S8 but they reverted the charge for many after some calling and complaining. I hope they learn their lesson but either way they are going to honor the $425 off or they will be taking my Note 8 back irrespective of it's within return period or not. If they try to screw, I'm going to dispute the charge or even log a BBB complaint. I'm not saying it'll go smooth but as others mentioned they may try to screw us but be prepared to fight

Would you jump to the V30 then?

Did they reverse it for many people? I'm so curious? I missed this whole debacle because I didn't have a S8. Care to share, because folks weren't very specific here and I was curious as to what was going down.

Yeah kinda doubt it was a widespread issue. It probably happened to a small percentage of people
