Here's something interesting...or not.

I guess I was getting a little tired of the same rumor mills (i.e. the usual suspects) - so last night while I was out running errands, I decided to pop into a random Verizon premium retailer just for something different. I asked the standard t-bolt question and expected the canned "we don't know anything" response. But, surprisingly, the sales guy said they were just told the 4th. I asked if he really meant this Friday and he said yes. I asked who gave him this info. and he said corporate. Well, big deal, just another date, right? But then he said they were just given the go ahead for preorders. When I said huh? what? and started to move toward my wallet, he said, no, not for customers. He then clarified that stores like his were just allowed to place their orders, which he did, and they were told they would be here Friday. He was quick to point out that they were also given many other dates along they way as possible releases, so he wasn't promising anything - but he said that this was the first time they were allowed to actually order the phones. He took my number and said he'd call me if they arrived or if he learned anything more.

It's just a story I thought I'd share, so don't thrash me too hard. Look, I'm just thrilled to get a unique response from a verizon rep. even if he's lying to me.

And like most of you...I don't ask for much. Just looking for a good meal at a fair price is all.

I really want to believe this... but my rational side says it's impossible.

Verizon will put out a press release first. Then they will tweet and update all their websites. Google "verizon wireless press release" and you should find the news section of the vzw website.

Went in to pay my bill last night and asked the same thing....and got the same answer! The rep said the 4th and when I mentioned Thursdays being the release date he said that "there's been a couple phones released on other days, but we'll see"...he also took down my info....so *fingers crossed*

Worthless update of the day:

Verizon "premier" store rep just emailed me to say "Verizon pushed back the date again. We are not sure when it will arrive."

So... about that Verizon iPhone 4...

I'm assuming Bennnnn and jerrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy won't be showing up around here anymore.

Though Bennnnn never gave a time for an announcement, he just said today was the tentative date for it. So we'll see, but I'm not expecting anything.

Not a huge deal if it's not announced today - the guessing game was loads of fun. If the game hadn't been going on we would have had no news and lots of boredom and more snarky comments. It's all good.
