Hopefully I had a lemon, but yesterday, went I went to charge my Galaxy S5, carefully opening the port like always....it simply came off...a clean break. No force was applied or anything. Lucky, it was apparent to the AT&T store, and they swapped out my phone without any problems (well...the third store I visited did). I was ready to switch back to my iphone 5s...but lucky they swapped it out. It was apparent that it was a fault in the device and not from applied torque.
Anyway, they stated that I was the first person they had seen with this problem. Lets hope that this is the case, as I would hate for this to be the norm. I know some people hate the charging port...but if it makes it water proof (resistant), I am not going to complain.
Anyway, be careful with those ports.

It was posted that Samsung isn't backing this up and considers it wear and tear. BS.
Spend $100+ for Wireless Back Cover, Charging Orb, Extra Battery and/or microSD so you won't risk breaking it.
It's ridiculous and it's sad they won't admit it's their problem.

Do you really think that'll solve it? I have a charging pad and cover and still find myself popping open the cover to charge in the car and when I'm on the go because wireless charging is way too slow

Of course not but it's just a safer option.
I don't expect people to have multiple charging orbs. I also have one in the car because it's more convenient.

AgreedThis has been recommended multiple times and yet its still unacceptable. No one should have to buy a new port because of a bad design. I suggest no one purchase one either and keep letting Samsung know about it. They can't hide forever.

Yep. True. Unless it had some kind of friction pad built inA wireless charging pad in the car? Which one did you get for that? I just imagine the phone sliding all over the place.
