Froyo leaked for the Incredible

Installed and working properly.

After tinkering around with 2.2 for the first time, all I can say is HOLY CRAP is it ever quick and snappy.

I'm about to dive in, as well. Here's hoping we don't get screwed as far as the radio goes, cause if we do, potentially buh-bye future updates.

But who knows, maybe this is the final version and it will all go live tomorrow.

Acording to the OP on XDA, you can go back. His origional warnings were prior to the roll back that was discovered. He details it in the post.

This may be off topic, but I've been following the xda thread on the leaked 2.2 for several hours....

Do people not READ?

After 5+ hours of a thread blowing up, with detailed instructions, being regularly updated for field-test issues, even I can do this from memory and I'm not planning on doing it!

I would never perform a mission critical update on any OS without carefully reading the instructions and following every step carefully, but after 6+ hours people are still wondering why their camcorder won’t work after they applied the update w/o installing the Leaked OTA radio/720p update!

I’m not even a member at xda and I want to RAGE at these fools.

Sorry had to vent.

Excellent then. No fear on this one.

Sorry about that, I stopped following the XDA thread when it got to like 23 pages or so. ;)

Anyways, flashing the Stock ROM. Then the OTA update. Then FROYO!

No problem, happy to help! I'm living vicariously through you guys until the OTA. I need the thrills! ;)

Lol, seconded, and this is why I stopped following that thread.

Everything is working great except some of my apps aren't showing in the market. Most notably the pro key of astro. Does anyone have the pro version of astro show in the market?

Ugh. Why do I keep getting "Installation aborted" when trying to flash the OTA update? Here's the steps I took

Went back to stock from a rooted incredible with PMB31 thing or whatever.
Put "update" that I downloaded (the ota update) on the sd card, and its name is "update.zip".
Rebooted into recovery, click on update.zip.

It had trouble verifying the package, says it isnt signed right or something like that.

Did you name it update.zip or just update? It will take care of the extension .zip for you

Did you also delete the file used to unroot your phone from the SD card?

Two questions are you fat32 on the SD card and is it possibly named the file update.zip.zip unwittingly? These seem to be two of the big stumbling blocks.

I just formatted it to fat32 and yes it's just update, not update.zip. Well, it's update.zip, but I just named it update, and it took care of the zip.

Lemme type out exactly what it says in clockworkmod recovery when I get this error.

Install from sdcard
Finding update package
opening update package
installing update
assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop". robuild.fingerprint")
== "verizon/inc/inc/inc:2.1-update1/ere27/161494:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop". robuild.fingerprint")
== "verizon_wwe/inc/inc/inc:2.1-update1/ere27/203589:user/release-keys"
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted

EDIT: I definitely found a way to fix this Status 7 error. After using PB31MG to go back to stock, make sure you reboot, then install the REGULAR update.zip from verizon, then reboot again, THEN remove PB31MG from your sd card, put the OTA update.zip on, THEN install that update.zip. I read this at XDA. you're welcome everyone.

I would delete update.zip from your phone and computer and then redownload it, rename the file back to update.zip.

Your phone is.running a stock Rom with no root access right?

I edited above.

Yeah I redownloaded, and yes.

This phone was awesome before 2.2 and now... Christ almighty is it awesome.... freaking screaming!

This is great! It took me a long time last night to get this done, though. Man did I have problems. The biggest thing for all of you rooted people to remember is when attempting to go back to stock, before you put PB31IMG.zip (sp?) on the memory card, check to make sure the memory card is formatted to FAT32, not just FAT. Once I got that figured out, it was pretty much a cake walk.

Does anyone have the command line codes to enter to remove VZ Navigator? I don't like the idea that there is an app installed on my phone that any dunce can easily activate and end up costing me $10 a month until I discover it.
