Will a factory reset revert me back to an earlier update if this turns out not to be the OTA update for some reason?
first of all waiting is for the weak lol jk but here the solution.. open ruu, when it gets to the main screen goto run and type in %temp% and hit enter once there open the ruu temp folder if you have a lot then delete all your temp and do it again it wont hurt anything any way once you get to the ruu temp folder scroll down to you see rom.zip copy that to the desktop and rename it PB31IMG install this to the root of your sd card and reboot your phone into recovery (power and vol down) itll read the update and ask if you want to install it. hit yes it will reboot the phone dont worry this is normal. let it do its thing and once its done you have 2.2 official. WARNING this will wipe all data make sure you do a back up. to re root make sure you install unrevoked forever FIRST. goto unrevoked forever and scroll down about installing clock work and su.. and there you go feel free to ask any questions.

I have two win7 32 bit machines, and I constantly have problems with devices connecting with their own software over USB. Love Win7, but USB compatibility is worse than Vista...

Does the install wipe our apps, data, scene settings, etc.?
I have never done a backup, so I went to the System => Accounts & Sync => Backup Assistant. I set a PIN and hit sync. It said that it synced OK but did not not indicate what got synced or where it synced it to. What else should I do to protect my data in advance of installing this update?

What's the version of flash that comes with this OTA? I installed it but using an odd method so I'm not sure if I have the proper Flash 10.1 version installed.
Doubt it really matters all the versions I try are choppy in youtube. It also seems to screw up the external youtube app a bit. More videos then usual report error while playing (but work if you try again). I was hoping the final build of Froyo would fix this but so far I'm still getting more errors than usual in the external youtube player.....

New Froyo update google sync problem
Is anyone with who installed the leaked froyo had issues with auto syncing and contacts. I keep getting an error message "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." I only get this message with sync contacts. Everything else seems to be working. I have tried clearing the data in gmail and that doesn't work. Any ideas?

Froyo RUU Review and Findings...
Okay, here are the things that I have found so far. Granted, it has only been on my phone for about 30 minutes, and I'm still getting situated with it.
1. The Droid Eye and Voice does come on when you turn your phone on
2. We got 720p HD Video Recording
3. We also got a camcorder light as well!
4. Froyo comes installed with a flashlight app from HTC that works great and has 3 intensities!
5. Comes with Flash 10.1 as well as a new Amazon MP3 App
6. Something about the Pattern Lock is visually different, but I can't tell exactly what it is lol. I need a stock 2.1 Inc to be able to say.
7. Google Navigation works perfectly, without having to purchase the stupid Verizon Navigation Plan.
8. On Google maps, the call button works again, for when you want to call a location.
9. To use 3g mobile hotspot, you do need to have it activated with Verizon first. I know that's lame. :/
10. For pattern lock to engage, you can actually set, how many minutes after you manually put your phone to sleep, it will take for it to actually lock. It can be instant, 3 min, 5 min, etc...
11. Media Player has some visual enhancements.
12. The keyboard has some keys in different spots now.
Other than that, just some basic observations:
The phone feels much faster. The browser is definitely quicker. Video looks really nice! Over all, great improvement on an already incredible device!

So you got the OTA? When, where.. pictures?

So far, no lag whatsoever!
The gallery appears the same. I didn't notice any new widgets either, but who knows. I need some seat time with this thing, lol
See if you can uninstall CITY ID now
Pfff... No, you cannnot.
I may decide to root soon, just so I can use the mobile hotspot for free. :/
Android Central showed some new widgets like News, and upgrades to the current ones.
